Hello All,
I am reading a few books on acupressure and have found a discrepancy. In one book (the way to locatye acupoints - by yang jiasqn) it is shown on the right side of the body. Others show the meridian on the left!
Who do i believe?
Thank you x
Hi
The majority of meridians are symmetrical on both sides of the body. The exceptions are Governing and Conception(Central) which follow the midline of the body - front and back.
Hope that helps.

*nod* They are on both sides, confusing isn't it!! They are largely printed in this way for clarity.
Usually when I have acupuncture the needles are put in the points on both sides of the body, so I guess with acupressure work both points once you have decided which ones are the right tsubos.

In EFT most people use the acupressure points on just one side of the body - the theory is that if you balance the energy system on one side it will automatically translate to the whole; but some people feel a little bit "one-sided" and off-balance with that, so they choose to stimulate the points on both sides of the body. (I am personally too lazy to use both hands, so I tap on one side and it works fine!:))

*nod* EFT is usually carried out unilaterally, however, I tend to do bilateral tapping if I feel things aren't shifting, some people seem to clear their blockages much more quickly this way.
