I am very interested in doing the Acupressure course too. I had a treatment last week from a collegue for my neck and shoulder and it was very effective. I would fully recommend doing the course.

Hi ya

I use Chinese acupressure techniques in my own practice (Reiki, Reflexology and Oriental Massage) and find it an effective system.

My Qi Gong tutor calls acupressure "a vehicle for healing", which is a good expression of what it is all about.

Acupressure to me is like a whole body system of reflexology, not just pressing points with your elbow like in an on-site massage course. Many acupoints are also tigger points as well.

To understand acupressure, it is good to study the meridian flows, five elements and some basic TCM theory.

Best Wishes

Dave

I am studying acupressure and the five elements with the meridian flows . My teacher is telling me how our body is the same as every thing around us .

So as I see many people head for these alternative form of therapies are they all getting equal success to their respective problems? The variations of therapies have become so profound over the years that it makes one ask this. However regarding acupressure and acupuncture I have heard a lot of good feedbacks though I have yet not required to use them personally but provided there is a need I will have a try.

Is acupressure the same as joh shin doh? I have had this treatment several times and think it's excellent, both for specific problems and just in general. I believe joh shin doh unblocks the meridians. Am I right?

Sunanda: yes you are right, acu-points are nodal points in the matrix of the human energy body. I believe they can be stimulated in many different ways to provide balance.

Her......: The reason so many therapies seem to work is that they all provide balance in the homeostatic mechanisms of the body, hence healing. Holistic therapies have a tendancy to follow holistic paradigms much look at health (and dis-ease) as a whole. Scientific medicine (another paradigm) has a tendancy for reductionism, trying to break things down and sometimes missing the point.

Best wishes

Hi Aroma4U
I have a book called Acupressure for Common Ailments that is quite good for starting with. It's by Crhis Jarmey & John Tindall.

Hello all,

I do use EFT every day as a kind of plug to be at my best in the morning. It is really working for me as a calming therapy.
I do use it at the moment as I suffer from my neck.
I stopped smoking 6 month ago with no medication or help beside EFT.
I must say, even though I do have other tools, this one is very very interesting.
