What is the best way to cast a circle around some thing?

What would you say while casting a circle?

Are candles needed when casting a circle if so scented or unscented and/or what in scent is best used if any?

can any one help

Have a look at the Magical Circle School's website ([DLMURL] http://www.mistresskalpanasrealm.com/new/ [/DLMURL]), which has a number of courses which you might find interesting/helpful.

Personally I've never cast a circle, just gone on with whatever it is I'm getting on with.

Hi,

I am still yet to follow the set way to cast a circle as listed in many books....I have done several "spells" where I have cast my own circle from my own intuition...

I tend to walk 3 times round clockwise and ask my guides & the gods & godesses for help & protection as i am doing this, then tend to sit inside circle & cast my spell, then walk 3 times anticlockwise to close circle & set spell,& thank my guides & god & goddeses as I do this. This is very basic but it is what i feel comfortable doing at my present place on my journey.

My spells tend to be very simple and only for small things...but the most important aspect is to always offer thanks to your helpers.

Blessings,

hi
this works for me, clean the space of clutter, use salt water and clean the area if its indoors or on hard ground. clear the energy of the room. invite ur guide and angels to be with u, using ur minds eye cast a circle covering it with white and purple light and imagine it glowing and filling the space. also say the affirmation that nothing negative can invade the space. u can also cast a circle physically and then do the imagination through the minds eye.
all the best

Hi natured fox......and all

I have a basic routine that I follow each morning, which sets my intentions for the day and they are very similar to vicky's

I do light candles first, rather than imagine the illuminations, and I use a rattle or a special branch that I have made especially for clearing negative energy.....I feel it's about disturbing and moving the energy about before we can clear it..

I also use herbs for smudging....and cleansing.....

The water used to consecrate the working area was especially collected from a holy well....and I refill it periodically....

Lots of people call Angels into their circle.......but I call in the Elementals......It just feels right for me....:)

Within the circle I use music and dance...along with drumming and chanting. Prayer and meditation is also very important within the circle.......( well, for me it is )

If I call in any Angels, Spirits or Guides.......I always bid them farewell and thank them for taking the time to visit me......

All I would emphasize is.......I only get out of my morning rituals.....the energy and effort I put into it.......IMO.

I hope you have many pleasant and enjoyable hours working with your Spirits and Guides.......and may God walk within all of our hearts.

Hi you have been told how to start your circle .
No one has told you to do the reverse to take it down and disperse the energy .
I send it back to heal the earth or send it out to heal anyone that is ill.

I simply sit cross legged, point my hands skyward, earthwards (above as is below) and circle the clock wise asking for protection and guidance form the power that be. Within my sacred sphere I do what I have to do, no hard and fast rules, it;'s all very organic. More often that not I'm don't use my voice as I tend to work mainley in the morning and others in my household are sleeping. To cose I reverse my circle with my hand (in a prayer positon - sonetimes I'm holding a pointed crystal), point below then above thanking the powers that be for Their attendance and assitance.

We all have different ways and you will find your own.

Bright Blessings
