Hiya all,i hope nobody thinks this is a stupid question..????
I've been reading some different books on Wicca, came across something that im not to sure about..Something along the lines of,the more visulisation you practice the more you become in tune with the parranormal!!!!
Is this right???Im not new to Wicca, but i've recently started to do more Ritual work, which usually involves visualisation..as ya'll know..
Any way i used to know a girl at school who had a psycic abilitie as did her Mam..Some of the things she would tell us about what happened in her house was terrifying, which has always scared me of any thing paranormal.I hope this dos'nt mean that this is just the way it goes in Wicca as its going to be a huge hurdle for me,if indeed i can get passed it..
Hope some one can help me out with this..Hugs XXXXX

I am not a Wiccan so please take what I have to say with a pinch of salt untill somebody more knowledgable comes along. However, that sounds like a very far fetched claim to me. I do visualisations and meditations but this is to grow spiritually and has nothing to do with what you seem to think paranormal is.

What do you class as paranormal??? How old was this friend of yours, and how old where you when this happened? I'm just wondering if there was some scaring and things happening in your friends house that you/her were unable to understand due to your age. Things happened to me in my youth which scared the living daylights out of me, as an adult I can now look back at them and see how unrealistic that fear was and have a good giggle about them.

I pressume you have spent time on the Wicca forum reading all the old threads and you see that there is nothing frightening going on......

Books are like newspapers - don't always believe everything you read! 🙂

Glad to have been able to confirm your own feelings - just shows, you can trust your gut re-action!

I think (for most of us!) as soon as something feels uncomfortable for you you will automatically deviate from it - however, often we deviate to something which we have to learn in order to take us further in the path we initially chose. However, we have to be careful by whom/what we are influenced!

Have you read any reviews on this book???? Does the rest of the book make sense to you?

Hi,

I was enjoying my wiccan path, taking it slowly at my own pace and enjoyin images that came to me in my dreams, some have been very real.........

then someone i know made a big thing about protection, and all of a sudden my wonderful path stopped i started to panick about what coudl be trying to get hold of me & havin awful dreams.......then another friend mentioned i shoudl calm down & go back to what i was doing......i always felt i was being protected by my dad & my nan and my guides, and felt comfortable with this........

for some protection is a big thing that makes them feel safe, and they liek to do intense rituals....but for me i do protection but i dont feel need to do rituals as such.......

wen i started doing the protection rituals that wsa wen the bad things started appearing.......so i feel u should so follow your own path & be guided by what is right for you..because it is of course your own guides that are guiding and protecting you....so if thsi book didnt make sense, then discard it......

Blessings,

Moontara xxx

Hiya xfawnyx

Ritual is practice or pattern of behavior regularly performed in a set manner, that's the definition........

My morning ritual's are very special to me....and everything that I do within these ritual's are because I want too. I devote my energy and time to this performance.......to give thanks to;

The Sunrise....
The water that I drink...
The food I eat.....
My family...
My friends..
My health and strength..

It's my way of giving thanks........I don't feel I need protection for any of my rituals....

My advice is just to look for the good in things and situations and not the bad, there is a little story I would like to share....

Gandhi's Completeness

The story goes that on a certain day Gandhi and a companion entered the gates of a great city in order to share their teachings with the inhabitants. Almost immediately a follower of the Mahatma, who lived in the city, approached and told him, 'Master, you are wasting your time and energy here. The people here are hard of heart, and resistant to change and the words of truth. They are dumb and ignorant and have no wish to learn anything. Do not waste your gifts upon them.'

Gandhi smiled at the man and replied, 'I have no doubt you are right.'

Some minutes later another adherent approached Gandhi saying, 'My lord, you are indeed most welcome by all in tis fortunate city. The people await and anticipate the jewels of learning that will fall from your lips. They are hungry to learn and eager to serve you. Their hearts and minds are truly open to you.'

Gandhi smiled and replied, 'I have no doubt you are right too.'

His companion turned to him and said, 'Master, how is it possible you can say one thing to one man and something completely different to another? The sun and the moon can never be the same thing, and day cannot be night.'

Gandhi smiled at his friend and replied, 'I have no doubt you are right. And you may also consider that both men spoke truly according to their own values. The first expects to see the bad in everything. The second sees only the good. Both men perceive the world as they expect it to be. How can you say either man perceives wrongly since all humankind perceives the world as they choose to experience it? Neither man spoke falsely; just something incomplete.'

That is beautiful and resonated deeply within me!

Yep - as for rituals and protection - it is definately something that you have to make your own mind up about, follow your own intuition - be comfotable with what you do and how you do it regardless of other people's preferences.
