Don't know if any of you recall the floods at Boscastle in Cornwall 2 years ago, and the damage done to the Witchcraft Museum?
With much support from many Witches and tourists, the town and Museum and other places of interest are up and running again.
A lot of the artefacts in the Museum came from Gardners original Muesum in the Isle of Man, but don't read me waffling on, go look and see, a wonderful website!!!

'Tis truly a fascinating museum and a beautiful location! I've been there and absolutley fell in love with the place. It was just too awful when that flood hit, and I remember thinking 'Is this really happening'?? when I watched the news reports.

Really glad that Boscastle has arisen again!

Hello LeFTy and welcome to HP! 🙂

Here's a link to the Cornwall Tourist Board website, which looks to me to be about as comprehensive as you can get:

[link= http://www.cornwalltouristboard.co.uk/gettingHere.asp ]http://www.cornwalltouristboard.co.uk/gettingHere.asp[/link]

You may, of course, know this, but calls to0845 telephone numbers are charged at a "lo-call" (cheaper) rate within the UK ... though I'm not sure how they would work from Norway.

Rather ironically considering which forum we're in, in the last paragraph on that page is mention of possible road delays at a place called Merymeet [sic] in Devon 😀

Hope you have a great visit, and will post here again in the meantime. You might like to pop over to the New Members forum and say hello there as well, perhaps tell us a little bit about yourself... you can be sure of a warm welcome. 🙂

RE: Museum of Witchcraft

Hi,

I know your message about the Witchcraft Museum was posted awhile ago. I visited Boscastle and the Museum 3 weeks ago and it was fantastic and very enlightening. I was so over welmed about the museum I had to send them an e-mail to thank them and for advie about Scying. I am working towards becoming Wicca but have alot to learn and knowledge to gain along the way. Just bought a book called the Wicca Bible by Ann-Marie Gallagher have not been able to put it down and absorbing the information. I am sure there are plenty of good books out there but this one appealed to me when choossen a book.

Blessed Be

RE: Museum of Witchcraft

I visited the museum the year before the floods and thought it was fantastic. The man I spoke to who was there that day also happened to be a Reiki Master and he invited me to join in with a ceremony that he and his wife and a few local healers were going to do at sunset. I would have loved to but as I was with my family and we were only there for the day I had to sadly decline. I was amazed when he told me that they still got hate mail from superstitious people and at the time he had them pinned all around the frame of a doorway,(surprise, surprise, a lot of them were anonymous!).

I'm so glad to see here that the museum is up and running again, I also was devastated when I saw the pictures of the floods and saw the museum being swept away.

Love and light

The Museum of Witchcraft is a great place. The bloke who runs it is a warlock himself.

Well worth a visit.

Patsy.

RE: Museum of Witchcraft

Hope I don't upset you by pointing this out Songstress, but to call a male witch a warlock is insulting. A male witch is called a witch, the same as a female witch. 😉
