I was in a 'craft' shop yesterday, and when the shopkeeper was talking about an incantation to be read with a candle, she said, "with you guys I know I can say the word 'incantation', but usually I just call it a poem." It struck me as an oppressed reaction, and made me consider how I might handle the mixed feelings surrounding Wicca. I would like to think that if I had my own shop, I would be proud to use the proper terminology, but then would my lack of caution set me up for ill-fated consequences?
I'm curious to know how the stigma surrounding Wicca is different abroad. Please post your ideas, especially your local cultural responses to Wicca/Shaman/Pagan practices.
Thanks, and Blessings!

RE: Judge allows Wiccan lawsuit to proceed
Hiya Killchar, People here in England are generally quite sceptical of all pagans including Wiccans. The general consensus is pro- spiritual, but when you throw in a Goddess or two,the public opinion is then divided.
I personally have just resorted back to a solo path, having spent some months working within a group . It suits me much better and not as much time consuming commitment .
It's hard work fighting for "Pagan Religious Equality". I ended up protesting so much ,I almost missed my spiritual path . Not many people like constant protesters and whinngers .........So a quiet life.........but more intensely "Spiritual" ......on a personal level
May your God/Goddess/Spirit walk within your heart.
Goddess Blessings
