Festival of "Parentalia" 13 February
Roman festival of" Parentalia" began with the vestal virgin performing rites in honour of the dead. The festival lasted eight days and each family in Rome would pay tribute to their ancestors, by leaving offerings and gifts at their graves.
At this time all temples were closed , marriages were forbidden, and Magistrates didn't wear their official insigniaof office.
On the last day of "Parentalia"a ceremony was held culminating in a sacrifice to "Faunus" also known as "Pan"....A pastoral and oracular god who revealed the future through dreams
A very special time to start a dream diary.
Blessings
