It's such a beautiful night and a full moon is in the sky, that I thought I would share this from the 'Witches datebook', and it just explains the Corn Moon:
We are now in the zodiac sign of Virgo, the Virgin. Virgo is known as both an Earth Goddess and a Corn Maiden, which coordinates nicely with the start of the harvest.
One of the older names for the Full Moon in August was the Wort Moon. Wort is an old anglo -Saxon word that means 'Herb'. During the hot and long days of summer, keep your herb gardens watered well and cared for to survive the heat. At this full 'Wort Moon,' you can begin to harvest your tender herbs and enchant them for various spell work. As you go to hang them up to dry and preserve, recite this cheerful Garden Witch's charm to sustain their magic.
Under Virgo's full Wort Moon of yellow-gold,
May the magic within these drying herbs hold.
I call on the earth, fire water and wind,
Let my Witch's herbal enchantment begin.
To bring love, comfort, to protect and heal,
With these rhyming words, the spell will now seal.

Thank you Oakapple, it was such a beautiful moon last evening wasn't it. I spent the evening at salsa and then popped in to a friends for a cuppa on the way home. The moon watched as I continued my journey and was safely home.
Interesting this about the harvesting of herbs and the asking for blessings on them "To bring love, comfort, to protect and heal,"...what more could we ask for.
Wonderful evening.

Yes jules.......sometimes it's the simplest of pleasures that bring us the greatest joy.
My morning rituals always include herbs....I use different herbs for different rituals, much the same as cooking or healing
Much Love
