Hiya Moon Tara.......

We....Crabbie and myself have been invited to a handfasting at Avebury. It starts at Stonehenge, with the sunrise....... and then all of the guests are making their way to the site of the wedding. Not sure how many people are invited, but I'm sure it will be a very good ceremony.

Hi Moon Tara........Litha is a lovely time of year, the longest day from here the days get shorter!

Here are a few suggestions to mark this occasion..

Go for a hike in the woods with your family. Enjoy the sounds and sights of nature. Take lots of pictures, or plan a scavenger hunt -- have each of the kids bring a "nature bag" to fill up. Remember, don't pick any live plants.

Have a barbeque, and invite all your family and friends over. Decorate with colors of the sun -- yellows, reds, and oranges. Feast on lots of summery food, like watermelons, strawberries, and fresh green salads.

Clean house. Okay, I know that it doesn't sound like fun, but why not take advantage of the warm weather to have a garage sale and get rid of all those things you don't want? If you don't feel like sitting outside having a sale, organize a swap with your friends, or donate all your stuff to charities like Goodwill or Salvation Army.

Just wondered what other people do to celebrate this special occasion.

Event in St Ives, Cambs

For anyone living in or near Cambridgeshire there is an event going on in St Ives that I am hoping to go to.

Its quite unusual to have something advertised for this time of year but im pleased that it is and hope that lots of people will be turning up to join in the festivities.

Love and light

Well, I have to work tomorrow. I shall be in Windsor in the morning and Bath in the afternoon and too tired after that to do anything special. Also watching the sunrise over Stamford Hill doesn't really resonate with me. But since it's my birthday tomorrow, I shall probably treat myself to a cup of tea and a piece of cake!

Hello! Hope you all had a wonderful Summer Solstice! I'm still learning so didn't realise it was known as Litha so thankyou MoonTara!

We did clean the flat from top to bottom (so kind of like Oakapple's idea!) although we didn't sell anything! It felt so good afterwards with all the windows open and birds singing. Then we said some prayers.

I'd love to go to a handfasting one day, in fact i'd love to be handfasted to my partner........one day heh?!

Wishing you all well

Hi Shaya,

So pleased u did something that felt good for Litha.....i know i am still learning as well, i suppose i always will............

Hope one day you do get to have your own handfasting, sounds delightful doesnt it and even more so if u have a partner who is open to it.....

I like your signature about the onion...have u ever tried burning an onion skin,i was told that if u burn the skin when ur really in need of some money, the money u need will come your way? havent tried it yet as of course you cant do it everyday or that often just when its a real need.........

Thanks MoonTara! Yes, hopefully one day we'll be properly handfasted, would be amazing 🙂

Now that one about the onion is a new one on me, never heard it before but it sounds really interesting. Certainly one to keep for the days of the credit crunch.

Many thanks
