Hello everyone,
Just curious - I've been thinking about death a lot this past year, due to illnesses with family & friends and having turned 51 myself... sometimes when I think about it I get really frightened, due to, I think, having been a born-again Christian when I was younger. I wonder what the Wiccan take on an afterlife is?
Thanks & take care,
(hope you are all having a super Yule)

Hi Hopecat
I can only speak for myself... But I certainly believe in an afterlife - or rather a continuation of your soul. I believe that we reincarnate on this earth for as long as we 'need' to. But for an afterlife itself... for me it's a place where you can 'rest' before it's time to reincarnate or move on to where ever it is we're going 🙂
Many pagans/wiccans speak of 'Summerlands' as this resting place. And I have to say that it sounds lovely!
I have never been afraid of death, in my teens I was rather excited at the prospect of finding out what happened after our body dies.
I guess there is only one thing I know for sure: there is no end, only another beginning. Look at nature where life dies at winter and gets reborn in the spring. I see time as a great circle, or a spiral.
I'm rambling on now, hope it makes sense 😉
Blessings
That's lovely Moongirl, very nicely put.:)
