It will soon be that time of year when we celebrate midsummer and I was wondering how some of you may be doing this. In the past my partner and I have gone to friends to celebrate. They have a wonderful big garden that is not overlooked and rituals can be performed outside. This is one of the sabbats that lots of the group turn up. (it is a open circle not a coven) its such fun. We usually start inside the house decorating the chairs that will be used for the Goddess and her reigning King and they are covered with foliage from the garden that has been collected, lots of ribbon and dangly things. This is when we have a good old chin wag and a few tussles over the best decorating material. Then the lady who is to represent the Goddess and those who will act out the Holly and the Oak King are dressed and decorated. Again great mirth with this as you can imagine. Then weather permitting the whole ritual may take place outside. Circle cast, quarters called, the Goddess is waiting at the alter and the Holly King with her. The Oak king is called and enters the circle. Then a bit of dramatics here when the two Kings have a bit of bovver and a clashing of staffs till the Oak King over comes the Holly King and, long live the King (well till the winter soltice anyway) This group has a penchant for jumping over fires whatever the celebration so some of us may do this. circle closed and then of to the house with a small procession and a banging of drums and clashing of symbols to feast and have fun. I love the Sabbats they are such fun. Share your celabrations.

Coven
Hi all,
Does anyone know of any covens taking in new members on the Wirral? Or Cheshire?
Hi Ss where about on the Wirral are you? We are not actually in a formal coven although we do hold groups and do rituals. If you are looking for a Coven then have you tried the Pagan federation. I don't know of any Coven taking new members at the moment. If you would like to join us till you find one perhaps we could discuss it. What experience do you have?
🙂
