Around me burns the lights of Yule;
I am filled with their light,
renewed by their light.
I pray to you,new Sun,
Reborn,O Lord from the dark.
How is it that you give birth to everything, Lady
never once growing infertile?
Even in the cold time, when everything seems dead,
each moment is born after it's predecessor
and time goes on:you give birth even in the poverty
of Winter.
This is the long night
This is the dark night
This is the cold night
This is the night of the last hope.
This is the night of the little spark.
This is the night of turning from darkness.
This is the night of turning towards light.
This is the night of wonder.
The long night is here:
come to us you spirits;
together let us fill the long night with light,
calling all beings to warm themselves at our fire.
Happy birthday, Sun!
The whole world is spread beneath you,
wrapped in darkness,
as a present for you to open.
Thats a lovely prayer Oakapple, thankyou for posting.
Blessings Starisheaw x
Thank you for sharing this Oakey. It's lovely.
Hi all...
Went to a lovely ritual at Avebury today and although there were Druid and Wiccan open rituals throughout the day, we opted for an Earth healing ritual.
Using the celestial moment of Solstice....when the lights of the northern hemesphere begins to increase, we gathered at the Avebury rings to honour our Great Mother Gaia....and by working at this sacred and holy location we also honoured our ancestors and dearly departed loved ones....bringing them closer and maintaining, in spirit, our unbroken bond with them.....
Firstly, an Earth square perimeter was formed using Nuummit and Quartz....then smudging was performed before laying out a crystal grid.
The Nuummit Hearts And Metamorphosis spheres surrounded a central six pointed star of Nuummit and Tungtupite....
We then had a guided visualisation, bringing us closer to the Earth, focusing on the Higher Energies to us through the heart of the Mother Gaia...
We were helped on our meditation by the use of a symphonic gong, which I must add, was brilliant and helped on my journey...
We finished with a chant to the White Tara.....or Quan Yin, the White Goddess....
Om, Tare, Tuttare, Ture Gaia, Ayu, Punye, Jnana, Pushtim Kuru, Sva Ha.... 21 times....
We then said a prayer and gave thanks.
On the way home.....Crabbie and I placed a wreath of rememberance for our ancestors at the ' Big Belly Oak' at Cadley........it was made from the six sacred woods.......Willow, Holly, Ivy, Pine,Yew, Mistletoe.
A brilliant day......Happy Solstice :nature-smiley-008:
