Hello, I really want to join a Pagan group. All my searches so far seem to have resulted in groups which meet up in pubs, which I really don't want. I just want to have contact with others on the same path. This site is great for info. I live in Derbyshire. Anyone have any advice or contact ideas?
Thanks
bright blessings hejog!
i like you am looking for groups of pagan traditions to join, im new but commited to witchcraft (not wicca) one of the pagan religions but feeling quite lonely and in need for guidance from a more experienced pagan. also id love to participate in rituals and sabbats with a group, at the moment i just dont know what to do in a solitary celebration. i recommend you contact the pagan federation and subscribe to the "pagan dawn" they have quite a few helpful info of moots and groups of pagan meetings and open rituals. feel free to contact me! do you follow any specific path of paganism?
blessed be!
Thanks. I am having a look at that Pagan Federation etc. Not really sure which path I follow - (I mean I'm very interested in nature, the universe and how everything's interconnected) -but believe it's the way for me to go. Would you say it was a good idea to read a lot about it? Been thinking of getting a book Paganism:An Introduction to earth-centred religions.
thanks again, H
I used to live in Nottingham and participated in regular pagan activities there and I know a lot of people from Derbyshire used to come along and there are a few groups in Derbyshire too that don't meet in pubs. Check out -
Pagan Federation is pretty active in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire so I'd definitly contact the co-ordinators in that area. Good luck with it all.
Thanks very much! That's very kind of you 🙂
I follow my own path, I guess - I have always loved Nature. Last year, I found a local group (through the Pagan Federation) who meet monthly in York in a pub. I go for the friendship, as I had been very lonely. I still feel an outsider, but I have a good time anyway. The group has its rituals, usually held at Thornborough Henge, which I attend more out of interest and community as I'm not really a ritualistic type of person.
