Dear friends,
can someone please put my mind at rest? My wife and I would love a Handfasting ceremony. Neither of us count ourselves as Pagan or Wiccan, but we do believe in woodland dieties and forces. We don't "worship", just believe.
Anyway, the problem we have is trying to find someone to hold the ceremony when every site we log on to claims to be derived from "the true way", but all being different we're confused. Another thing we've come across is "passed down through generations". I know this all sounds disrespectful and it's probably due to my own ignorance, after all if we have a handfasting and it's not quite "authentic" whatever that may be, as long as the love's there...............I don't know, i'm just confused and would appreciate any opinions.
It seems Dorking's a little short on Handfastings anyway.;)
Many thanks.

hANDFASTINGS

Merry Meet,

I am a Celebrant and perform Handfastings among other ceremonies.
I do not claim to be a descendant of anyone etc etc.
But would happily perform your ceremony for you. The only problem is I am not in Dorking. If you are interested, feel free to PM (Private Message) me, although that will have to be once initial moderation is lifted from your membership - in a few days time.

You could also try have a list of celebrants all over the country as well as the world.
I wish you lots of blessings and hope you find someone soon.
Blessings
Maryelle

Have you considered asking a close friend/relative to act as celebrant? I know a few friends who have acted/are acting as celebrant for friends to perform a handfasting ceremony and if I were to arrange a handfasting I would be asking my dear sister to act as celebrant.

Good luck on your search.

Blessings

I didn't know friends could do it... I would love to include this in our wedding in August.

you could try : , personally we had someone from a local pagan shop do it for us. However I think getting a close friend or family member to do it is a lovely idea.
