Hello,
My partner and I are looking for a suitable site to hold a handfasting ceremony, somewhere in Mid Wales. The reception is being held in Llangynidr, and the nearest registry offfice in in Abergavenny, and we live in Ebbw Vale, so anywhere in that sort of area (Brecon Beacons) would be ideal. The date we are hoping to arrange the ceremony for is Sept 18th. Has anyone got any ideas/suggestions for a suitable site please?
Many thanks.
Love and light.
Andy. x
Congratulations on your up & coming ceremony.:)
I don't know the area, but I suggest try a map and/or googling for ancient/natural sites that appeal to both of you; go and visit the place(s) and see how it makes you feel - from the residual energy to the location itself. That way, the choice of place and feeling come from yourselves. Don't forget to ask the landowners if it's on private land!
I've been handfasted 4 times now...one intial followed by 2 affirmations a year and a day apart; then a 7 yr affirmation 3 yrs ago. Been legally wed for 10 yrs and together 18 - h/fastings were all held at the same place.
Hope you have a lovely time xx.
For privacy, we hired the grounds of a hotel for our handfasting (plus it meant that we had the use of the hotel bar afterwards!). You might be surprised at just how open minded some hotel owners are nowadays!
Our handfasting was ten years ago and I believe the hotel has changed hands since.

have a look at our stunning venue for your handfasting.
It is really beautiful, secluded and not too far from you. We have a very private, spiritual tree circle and a venue for your celebrations.
We are organic, green and can cater for all needs - vegetarian, vegan, diabetic, gluten-free - all home-made food is locally sourced or from our own organic produce.
Good luck in your search and for your happy day!!

Oooo I have two months until our wedding and I'm getting really excited now.
Bannick, I live near Llechwen, you are very lucky to have had your ceremony there.
I had my handfasting in our back garden last year, it's by no means beautiful or large, but it was perfect 🙂
Aww that sounds amazing moonlight. x
I went to a Handfasting on May 1st at The Living Willow Theatre , Llanwrthwl. Sadly the weather did not allow for the ceremony to take place in the willow theatre, but the alternative was just as lovely.
