Hello...my relative just bought back a Navgrah Yantra for me from india!. However, I don't think its been through puja..is that possible?. I've read that unactivated its not really good situation. What can I can do on my own to bring it to an active state properly?.

Thanks!

RE: Help needed with new Yantra

Hi Charish
I'm in India at the moment and am familiar with the Navagraha (that's how they say it here in Tamil Nadu) shrines in most of the temples: Nine Planets, right? I have never seen a Navgrah yantra - what is it made of? Is it metal? If it is, then I would stand it up on an altar (if you use one) and do your own little puja: decorate it with flowers, sprinkle with water and wave incense in a clockwise circle in front of it. If you have a little burner you can burn a camphor pellet and wave that too (most Indian chemists stock these). Plus a little oil lamp with a wick. Here they use sesame oil, but I know that sunflower works too. Then maybe you could sit down and do a meditation in front of the yantra.
Those are my ideas, anyway. Enjoy...
Much love

RE: Help needed with new Yantra

Thanks Sunanda for the info!. Yes you are correct...Nine Planets..Navagraha....some spellings drop the last letter or two for some reason here I've found. It looks like metal/copper. I don't know what really to expect....though Yantras get high reviews... but I've only read about it. I read something about doing the planetary mantras for this particular Yantra...1000 times! a day!...over a 40 or 45 day period. Thats a lot of mantra...and the planetary mantra is not a one liner. I will try this process and see what happens.

RE: Help needed with new Yantra

Hi Charish
I had another thought: if you have a Hindu temple near you (I don't even know if you are Hindu) why not take the yantra to be blessed and 'activated' by the priests there?

Good luck with the mantras.
I have a friend here in India, an Englishman who's lived here for 10 years, and he does a lot of chanting, singing and puja, sometimes all night. I am very lax - I forget even to do jappa!

RE: Help needed with new Yantra

I have no idea about hindu temple or if they would do that for me..I could try though. It would be great to know that the Yantra is "activated"... However, I will try my own mini-puja as you've mentioned and see what if any effects happen in my life.

Thanks!

I forgot to say - Ring a bell too! Show the yantra utter respect and honour. Place it on a new silk cloth, Have a nice puja!
