Hello All
Only 1 week to go to Diwali - how will you all be celebrating - can't believe its nearly a year on since i aksed this last year.
Won't be much celebrations in our house this year as my mother in law is quite ill and in hospital and likely to remain there for some time. But we have the community celebrations the weekend after Diwali so looking forward to that.
All that mithai, fireworks and lovely rangoli displays to look forward to

Happy Diwali
I had a wonderful evening with a Jain family and friends. Ate lots of different indian snacks I hadn't seen before and put the worlds to right LOL!
They also got the local junior school to celebrate it and the tickets were sold out 120 and raised money for the PTA.
Its shame that the indian restaurants do not promote and celebrate this New Year festival like the chinese do with the Chinese New Year, perhaps we should all encourage them to do so. I love celebrating and good for the children to learn about different cultures and their festivals and customs.
A wonderful time was enJOYED by all.

RE: Diwali
May the light of love and devotion shine brightly in your hearts.
May the light of understanding shine in your minds.
May the light of harmony glow in your home.
May the light of service shine forth ceaselessly from your hands.
May the light of peace emanate from your being.
May your presence light the lamps of love and peace wherever you go.
May your smile, your words and your actions be as sweet as the sweets
of this festive season.
May Maha Laxmi (the Goddess Lakshmi, goddess of wealth) bring you the
true wealth of health, happiness, peace and spiritual upliftment.
