Not sure if this is the right thread.
When I was in Thailand this year I came across one of the (many:eek:) shrines in Bangkok devoted to The Thai Goddess of the Earth (Mae Phra Thoranee). She is the most wonderful bronze statue. She has a beautifully calm face and she is kneeling whilst wringing out her hair into a bowl (the water just keeps flowing). I believe Buddha summoned her to keep an enemy at bay and by wringing her hair into a stream caused a flood by which the enemy was drowned. This is all very vague but it isdifficult to find much information on the Earth Goddess. If anyone has information I would be really grateful.
I bought back to England a small bronze statue of her which is in pride of place in my dining room and I have placed a small bowl of water in front of her in which I regularly place a flower head.

I have a really lovely green jade Buddha pendant that was given to me by a friend. She'd bought it in Bangkok and had it blesed in a temple there.

Hi Amy, I would love to be able to post a piccy of her but I don't know how to go about doing it! I will take a photo on the digital camera (normally we download pictures to a CD). If you or someone can tell me what to do next I will gladly post one. As you can gather, I am a complete dinosaur when it comes to techie things.[:-]
