Shamanism - faith or therapy?

I'm aware that most people come across shamanism when they are looking for a healer and certainly there are some who prcatice it only as a therapy, but it does require a belief system, and there are plenty of us who regard it as our religion.
So - why is it listed on this forum under therapies, rather than under religions or spirituality? I'm curious about the thinking behind this. 🙂

I can't be sure, but probably because shamanism is a practice rather than just a belief system and therefore is suitable under the therapies section, considering this is a complementary health website. I guess it had to go under one or t'other. :rolleyes:

Okay. Thanks. I can see your point about it having to go somewhere. I think, though, that it's a shame. There's so much more to shamanism than just being a practitioner. Still, I guess the spiritual healers might feel the same! I'll just slink off back to the therapy pages then ...:)
