The alpha Course

Does anyone have experiences of the alpha course, I have been to a small number of them trying to find seekers and discussing opinions with other people of how I see things.

So in other words Peter, you are going to these courses in order to preach what you believe and to make converts to your way of thinking?

Definition of COURSE rom Ask Oxford:

a series of lectures or lessons in a particular subject, leading to an examination or qualification:

I've never been to one, but I understand that it costs the churches quite a lot of money to put them on - some provide meals in pubs for instance.

Now, how would you feel Peter, if you ran a course of lessons teaching your beliefs, that you had funded yourself (you didn't charge a fee like most people do for courses) and someone came along, wanting basically to hijack it and to gain their own recruits from it, for their own teachings?

I'm not surprised at all that you weren't made to feel very welcome.

I agree with you I do try to put my beliefs forward for the benefit of mankind, not to recruit to amass money in the future by getting its many followers as possible, to follow in blind faith false teachings, of someone else's interpretation.

They might spend a lot of money on these introductions, but it sounds a good investment for the future of the church, I assume strength in numbers.

I thought the alpha course was for a for free discussions of open-minded people and people can put their own opinions to how they see things, but apparently they weren't, they are the same as the Catholic Church they say believe us, and what we say, follow us in blind faith or you’re not welcome.

As I have said already said you give nothing to God by serving the church.

You seem very educated on the religious practices around the world and remind me in some ways of Robert Beckford.

I get nearly all my information from one book!

The book I say is more Holy than the Bible, I also have many copies of the Bible and do read some of them, but this is above all the books on the earth as I believe you will find out when you leave the Earth, I do not believe you have read it or if you have, you haven't understood it, or where it comes from!

Below I had listed two short passages from the author, the second I normally put on a bookmark.

Your salvation now lies in the word alone. during the time of Christ on earth anyone who would receive the word had to come to Him personally. Now you have the word in a book “IN THE LIGHT OF TRUTH”. Anyone, no matter how poor he is, can afford it and even if he were to start himself in order to possess it, he would only gain thereby.

I have spent a little time looking at the book that you mention I assume it refers to someone who has all the answers, is it intended for me or the author of the book I mention, hopefully me?
