Hi everyone,
I'm not a religious person but do like to watch the BBC Heaven & Earth Show. Today David Frost interviewed the Archbishop of Canterbury, but it was the studio discussion afterwards and the contribution of the Times Religious Correspondent that interested me.
During the interview (DF with AoC) they talked about the gay issue and the possible breaking away of the Nigerian Church (antigay) and the American Church (Pro gay) over this issue. The Times Journalist said that while the Archbishop privately has no problems with the gay issue, from a Church point of view he has to tow the line and as such, 'does not stand up for his own truth.'
I personally think that the over zealous interpretation of the Bible is the route cause of all the current troubles, and by sticking to the Bible, the issues won't ever be resolved - what do you think?
