As I’m writing, the boys trapped in the caves in Thailand are being led out. It’s going to take 11 hours to get each boy out. They need our prayers! Everyone involved needs to feel the love of God, guiding them and enfolding them, keeping them safe and without fear. I’m praying with the wonderful promises of God’s love, guidance and protection in the Bible, including:
"35 Who will separate us from the love of Christ?
Will hardship, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers,
nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,
39 nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation,
will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 8: (NSRV)
7 Can I go anywhere apart from Your Spirit?
Is there anywhere I can go to escape Your watchful presence?
8 If I go up into heaven, You are there.
If I make my bed in the realm of the dead, You are there.
9 If I ride on the wings of morning,
if I make my home in the most isolated part of the ocean,
10 Even then You will be there to guide me;
Your right hand will embrace me, for You are always there.

Thanks so much for sharing these thoughts, Judy. I'm praying too and was so grateful to read the articles you shared — the "In the rapids" one is really, really remarkable.
The news so far is that four of the boys have been rescued successfully, but the mission is currently halted for some hours while they replenish oxygen supplies — let's hope there's more good news soon.
Well, I'm not praying, but certainly hoping for the best. 😉
Saw this last night on the news - interesting that the diver at what sounds like a stage along the way didn't think they could make it. After all, an experienced diver last week tragically lost his life down there.
And I'm getting cross with all those Western psychologists who are predicting life-long trauma for the boys. What the diver says just shows how strong and together they are and there is no reason they shouldn't grow even stronger as a result of their "adventure"!
I'm so grateful that they boys are coming out!
Such good news today - this was on the BBC news website:
"Confirming the completion of the rescue operation, the [url]Thai Navy Seals Facebook page[/url] announced: "All 12 Wild Boars and coach have been extracted from the cave. All are safe."
I had a lovely experience today at 12.30. I was at the Runnymede Air Forces Memorial building, in front of a huge oval-topped window, looking out over Runnymede, with Heathrow beyond. All the flights at Heathrow had been halted for the RAF100 flypast. I noticed little stars etched on the window and then an angel on either side. Looking further up, I was thrilled to see the words from Psalm 139 quoted above etched into the window (this time from the King James Version Bible)
"Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me."
"and thy right hand shall hold me" and I immediately thought of those Thai boys. It was a beautiful moment. 🙂
