Hi Irene,

Kerala is South India, hotter and more humid than North India. April and May are the hottest.

The interiors record a maximum of 370c during summer. In the coastal area it is hot and humid during April-May while cool during December-January.

Right now it's 32 degrees C or 90 degrees Fahrenheit (max). That's pretty hot. April will be hotter. I would find it unbearable but others have greater heat and humidity tolerance. Better hotels will be air-conditioned, but outside it will be a challenge.

Beaches obviously will be inviting though.

Buddhist sites mostly in North India. See

I would go for the Himalayan foothills. Cool, Beautiful scenary.

More suggestions later.

Good Luck.

Hi Irene,

The most important Buddhist sites are:

Lumbini, BodhGaya, Sarnath and KushiNagar.

The other 4 most imp. sacred places of pilgrimage to Buddhists are:

Rajgir, Vaishali, Srabasti and sankasya.

Details of these in:

[link= http://www.buddhisminindia.com/buddhist-sites-india.html ]http://www.buddhisminindia.com/buddhist-sites-india.html[/link]

Maps to show you where these are:

and

The first of the 2 map sites also show the Buddhist sites in South India; starting from the southernmost:

Nagarjunakonda, Amaravati, and Caves at Elephanta, Ellora and Ajanta

Hope these are some use.

Prashna.
