I am wondering if there is such a thing as cruises for alternative minded people, i.e. those into alternative health, more spiritual than materialistic mindset? Preferably not going too far from UK. A google search has proved fruitless. I would prefer to mingle/socialise with people I felt I have more in common with and also, perhaps, it would reflect in healthier food available too.

I know some mediums go as celebrity guests on cruises. I have even seen spiritual development cruises advertised...

Oh where have you seen them advertised, i.e. which outlet/paper etc? (I have a dim view of the showbiz aspect of mediums...) Many think spiritualism and spirituality are the same thing....spiritualism is focused on the afterlife...spirituality more on the journey whilst alive.

Have you thought about Findhorn in Scotland? Not as a cruise obviously, but as a spiritual retreat?

PS: If it's a cruise or nothing. I don't know of anything, but maybe the magazine 'Kindred Spirit' would be the place to look or ask.

I have lived in various commune setups (in my youth) + been involved with self- sufficiency/organic farms so this is not quite what I was looking for in terms of a holiday. Thanks for the suggestion though.

That could be worth checking out - thanks. I heard that one of the downsides of cruises (apart from the possible food poisoning, which can be rife) is that it can take hours to embark and disembark....but that sounds a larger cruise than what I was thinking of going on.

I have thought of cruises, but the possiblity of being stuck with people I cannot or don't wish to socialise with puts me off. I find the overload of empathic input from others far too heavy for any form of protection or shielding to stop, but the ideal of a nice balcony room cruising down the Nile might be tempting? The people that would want that might be somewhat interesting?
