I have my interview for a place on the NVQ 3 Holistic Body Therapies course on wednesday, and I am so frightened!!! What kind of questions could they ask? also, what are they looking for?
Sorry if I am asking stupid questions, but anything like this gets me all wound up
A very nervous Lilac
RE: What are they looking for?
i would imagine that the interview is pretty much a formality... making sure you are not an undesirable, that you are wanting to go on the course for the right reasons etc. also to make sure you are fully aware of what is involved on the course, the amount of work and committment. that you will be able to write up assignments, see if you would require any help...
as an aside, make sure you know what holistic means... they may ask!
RE: What are they looking for?
If it is anything like what we do at my college, we generally invite a group of students in and basically see if they are suitable for the courses we offered.
I applied for my VTCT Massage course last summer and had to fill in a form, mostly stating why I wanted to do the course, what I was interested in and what I planned to do in the future. The tutor talked to me about the uniform etc and that was basically it!
Interviews are really just to make sure you are on the right course and to go through details of what you need etc. When we started the course some people didn't realise it was a qualification and how much work they had to do and as a result they left.
Don't be too nervous, it's best planning what you want to say with regards to if they ask you why you want to do the course and what you want to gain from it. Make sure you ask any questions and it is worth checking out detailed info on the course so you are aware of what is expected of you if you haven't done so already.
Good luck, you'll be fine!
