Hi
I have completed all of my A&P homework except for the following question which I do not understand: “Describe the three plexuses of mixed nerves:”
Does anyone have a clue where to start with this question?
Many thanks, Mark.
Well the two I remember are solar and brachial. Try looking for "plexus" on Wikipedia (or "solar plexus") and take it from there.
Hi Mark
“Describe the three plexuses of mixed nerves:”
Are you sure you have written down your question correctly?
If you have this IMO is very badly worded and so is very confusing!
There are more than three major nervous system plexuses. So could your question be asking for you to describe only three? In which case, as Chris has already suggested, google ‘nervous system plexuses’ and go from there.:)
Good luck and hope you are enjoying your study?
RxXx
Thanks!
Thanks everyone for your input so far. This is exactly how the question was worded which is probably why my whole A&P class are struggling with it.
Cheers, Mark.
I agree, the question could be worded more clearly !
However, given the requirement of 'three' I'd say it referred to the major voluntary plexuses - the cervical, brachial, and lumbosacral (sometimes considered as two distinct bodies, the lumbral and sacral plexus).
As for 'describe' I would start with a definition of a mixed plexus, then list the main nerves comprising the three major mixed plexuses......

Nothing strange in this question. Very simple and clear.
You can use any plexuses you know: cervical, brachial, lumbar, sacral, and also you can use other plexuses

Why 3? It depends what nerve system and where you consider....
