I'm probably being really thick here but I just can't see this answer for looking... I think I'm having one of my "blonde moments"...
What is the muscle that attaches to the styloid process of the 5th metatarsal?
(It's an assignment question and I know I should have the answer in the paperwork I've got but it's now driving me nuts!)

I dunno owt about all them fancy 'Ologys' but I typed in what you're stuck on and Google gave me a drawing and loads more stuff I dunno owt about but I hope it is of use to you.

I think it must be the peroneus brevis as the tuberosity (styloid process) is a bony prominence that protrudes laterally and plantarward from the base of the fifth metatarsal, which is where this muscle inserts.
I'm not sure which course you are doing, but if it is ITEC, I think this is the only muscle on the syllabus that attaches to the 5th metatarsal.

I went into Google afterwards and found loads of stuff.
Angel Fish - mine isn't an ITEC course, our assignments for our portfolio are from VTCT so not sure how much detail I need to go into yet as it's the first one I've done!! We also have to do 100 hours of work experience which is divided up into 40 hours for case studies and 60 hours clinic work experience - 30 for Sports Massage and 30 for Remedial Bodywork. Last week was the first session so I've got a pretty intense year coming up so I expect I'll be visiting this forum a lot [sm=angry-smiley-035.gif][sm=1syellow1.gif]
