RE: Skincare & eye treatment

Hello Gussie,

Thank you for posting these questions here, wish I knew this forum earlier.... but now I have done the exam paper, just thought if you don't mind me joining in the discussion...for those will do the exam in the future:)

1. What is the deeper layer of the dermis called:
A. the reticular layer
B. the hypodermal layer
c. the papillary layer
d. the epidermal layer
My answeris “A”, because there are only two layers in the dermis, the papillary layer and the reticular layer.

22. Areolar tissue is a type of:
a. connective tissue.
b. epithelial tissue.
c. nervous tissue.
d. muscular tissue.
My answeris “A”, because areolar tissue has a semi-solid matrix, found in almost every part of the body, connecting and supporting organs (e.g. hypodermis)

23. The watery fluid that surrounds the body tissues:
a. serum.
b. synovial fluid.
c. plasma
d. interstitial fluid.
My answeris “D”. Plasma is the fluidic part of the blood. And interstitial fluid is what bathing all the cells of the body.

35. which ingredient does lash and brow tint contain:
a. toluenediamine
b. peroxide.
c. potassium hydroxide
d. humectants
My answeris “B”, because Toluenediamine is used as a solvent, it can cause liver damage and is irritating to the skin and respiratory tract. Peroxide is a bleaching agent, used in tint activator.

40. Cleansers are designed to:
a. deep cleanse, soothe and balance
b. remove dead skin cells and stimulate the circulation
c. remove dirt, sweat, sebum and make up
d. tighten the skin and stimulated the circulation
My answer is “A”, when we cleanse the skin, we should not remove “sweat and sebum”, as we need them for healthy acid mantle formation. A good/appropriate cleanser should cleanse the skin and rebalance the pH, prepare the skin for further treatment.

44. Thermal masks are suitable for:
a. dry skin
b. sensitive skin
c. greasy, congtested skin
d. mature skin
Not sure the tutor thought it's C but I think it's D what do you think
My answeris “D” (same as yours:)). Thermal mask is designed to induce perspiration, relaxation and better absorption of underlying product. A mature skin can be benefit from it the most.

46. The massage movement temed Palmar kneading is a :
a. stroking movement
b. compression movement not sure
c. percussion movement
d. vibration movement
I have the same answer "B":)

50. The effects of frictions include:
a. removal of waste products and lymphatic flow
b. increased localised blood supply that's what I think, but I was told it's C. So what do you think
c. scar tissue stretched and loosened
d. toning effect on muscle tissue.
My answer is “A”. Friction is used to minimize oedema. Tapotement movement is the one increases localized blood supply the most.

Thanks!

Hello Lady Ferguson and welcome to Healthypages. 🙂

Have appropriate treatments not been covered in your course work? Can you ask your tutor for some guidance?

You could also perhaps post some of your own ideas here, and our members may then be able to say if you're on the right lines, rather than just providing the answers.
