Does anyone know how to answer the following questions?
1. What type of foundation is setting powder not applied over?
2. What is the effect of highlighter when used above the cheekbones?
3. Which tone in lipstick are emphasized when lipsticks change color?
4. How would you diminish the appearance of nasolabial folds?
5. Why are particles coated with light reflecting titanuium dioxide added to lipstick?
6. What is the effect of magnesium carbonate when used as an ingredient for face powder?
RE: Itec Make Up
Magnesium Carbonate = contributes to the smoothness of the powder and absorbs any perfume added.
Nasolabial folds = used a lighter shade of foundation in the crease to diminish the hard lines.
Effect of highlighter above cheekbones = This question is just common sense really, a highlighter 'highlights' so it is likely to emphasis the cheek bones.
The book I have is called 'The Beauty Therapy fact file by Susan Cressy. It is THE must have book for exams.!
Good luck

RE: Itec Make Up
Hi,
Hope these answers help.
1. B,
2. This is a hard one as I would not apply make up after a facial because the skin needs to benefit from the treatment just performed. The make up could appear uneven and patchy if you did not leave 5-10 minutes between applying moisturiser and then the make up. It certainly is not a contra indication to apply make up after a facial. So unsure between C and D. I would probably go for C.
3. A.
4. B
5. C
6. C. carnauba is a wax that comes from the carnauba palm in Brazil, used to give solidity to lipsticks, deoderant sticks and to increase melting point of many cosmetics. Vegetable origin.
7. C.
8. B.
9. D
10. D.
11. A.
Let me know what you all think of the answers and post any other answers you have...especially about question 2.
Tracey.
RE: Itec Make Up

17 B apply moisture and avoid frosted lipsticks
18 a - Gel - more natural look i.e. healthy glow
19 A - Gives a natural glow
20 C - Hypo-allergenic make up products have less range of colours
25 A - dyes last longer than pigments
27 - would need the 4 possible answers
28 A - I think it would be perfume as this can create an allergic reaction

Itec papers in 4 wks time ............ God help me!
