What are you favourite walking areas in Surrey?
Mine has to be Leith hill, I love walking up to the tower. I also like winterfold near Cranleigh, the views are breathtaking.

Richmond Park (We walked across from Isabella Plantation to Pembroke Lodge the other day - fantastic views including a cut away to St.Pauls and they do a nice cup of coffee). The tow path from Hampton Court to Kingston, and from Surbiton to Kingston, and from Kingston to Richmond.

When we lived in Surrey my favourite Sunday afternoon walk was from Newlands Corner, down to the ' Silent Pool ' in Shere. When the kids were young, we used to picnic at ' Newlands Corner ' beauty spot situated just outside Guildford, on the Dorking Rd. Eat our goodies, have a mess around with kites and the odd game of footie, then amble down the hill into Shere village.....look around the art and craft shops, then make our way back up the hill to the Silent Pool.
This beautiful lake is shrouded in legends of murder, rape, and ghost stories...of prince regents and eerie goings on.....have a gander at this link.

I have visited silent pool many times, I love it because of its mysterious feel. Unfortunately last year because of the drought the pool was completely dry, but I would imagine after the weather we've had recently it will be back to its best.

Esher Commonis interesting - I like the Black Pond which is a bit creepy really.
Here are some walks in the Borough of Elmbridge [link= http://www.elmbridge.gov.uk/events/ ]http://www.elmbridge.gov.uk/events/[/link]

Hampton Court Park in Kingston. Much loved for it's calm, open-spaced areas. It's not overcrowded - wonderful for long, relaxing walks, observing life of birds, rabbits and deer and even crabs!

Virginia Water Lake, in Spring is such a beautiful place. We did a circular walk around the lake walking widdeshins coming firstly to the Totem pole, standing proud and upright. Donated to the British public by the indigenous tribes of Bitish Columbia.......Then through the Azalia and Rhoddedendron Gardens. Coming to the top of the lakeare the Polo fields, frequented by members of the Royal family.........Half a mile furtherare the Roman ruins shipped in especially for this display from Egypt.....then there is the wonderful waterfall and stream......always ending the walk with an icecream from the little van by the carpark......good memories..

I have heard there are walks around Watts Gallery, public footpaths etc.
Next to the Gallery is Compton tea rooms who have lovely cakes and all sorts of teas and coffee if that's what you prefer. Price wise they are very reasonable (in this day and age). They may also sell maps of local walks.

I think its called The Secret Garden? in Bushey Park, (Hampton Court/Teddington). Its those two closed off areas that seem really private, calm and tranquil with loads of rabbits and squirrels - YUM! 🙂
Also, Wisley Woods can be fun just near Woking - like a wilderness! I like the Ham section of Richmond Park and the East Sheen one too.

Hi colourhappy & peppermint. from watts gallery, cross Down Lane and go along the Pilgrims way towards Puttenham, or, for views, go up the lane a little and turn right over to Loseley House. You can then loop back left up towards the Hogs Back.
My favourite is Holmwood Hill - from the old Plough Inn at blackbrook, follow the path a mile or so till you get to the bench at the top of the hill. My father's ashes are scattered there, so say hi to him if you go. We used to ride the horses all over that common years ago.
Reigate Hill
Fantastic views, especially on a clear day
