Here are a couple of links to drumming websites:
[link= http://www.skintoskin.co.uk/index.htm ]http://www.skintoskin.co.uk/index.htm[/link]
Contact details on the main page. Best thing is to ask to be put onthe mailing list for forthcoming events, of which some are in the pipeline if not yet on the website.

Lovely website, also covering Shamanism. Their diary page is frequently updated.
For the Weston-super-Mare group mentioned in the other thread, please PM me for contact details, as they don't have a website to which I can post a link.

RE: Drumming!
Hi Laura
Thanks, that looks fun!!
Does anyone know of anything similar in Scotland (Glasgow area or thereabouts) or can anyone suggest how I could find out about drumming groups?
Cheers

RE: Drumming!
You could perhaps post a request in the Scotland forum here to ask if anyone knows. Suggest you start a new thread, as I did, so you don't get lost on the end of "meets and greets" 😀
This is a link to a large number of drumming sites:
[link= http://www.african-drumbeat.co.uk/almost8.htm ] http://www.african-drumbeat.co.uk/almost8.htm [/link]
[link= http://www.african-drumbeat.co.uk/index.htm ] http://www.african-drumbeat.co.uk/index.htm [/link]
home page
If you do your own online searches, may I suggest you search on the word "djembe" (if that's your interest - see my drum pic in my post above). If you just put "drum", you'll get all the kit drum sites as well. It's hand drumming I'm talking about here.
Best of luck in your search 🙂
Laura.
RE: Drumming!
Thank you:)
RE: Drumming!
Hi there,
I wonder how it's going with the drumming? I've found an amazing group - [link= http://www.drumjam.co.uk ]www.drumjam.co.uk[/link]. They even held a workshop to attract wealth a few weeks ago - I'm constantly blown away by the wonderful energy, organisation, fun and vision of the people that go!!
Lots of love,
G
RE: Drumming!
Hi Cherrytree
Thanks for posting the link to drumjam. I've never drummed with them, but certainly know of them.
You'll find more about them (and some others)in an earlierthread about Drumming and Coaching in the Life Coaching forum, which you might be interested to read:

RE: Drumming!
Just a note to say that ,the people that Holistic linked to earlier are really lovely and fantastic facilitators! If you live near them and have the chance todo a workshop, do it!
RE: Drumming!
Ooh, has the Essex girl been travelling in a westerly direction, perhaps on her hols 😉 (pun intended), or have Dragonflymoon spread their wings?
Totally endorse your comments though 🙂
RE: Drumming!
I agree Dragonfly are great :D:D:D
RE: Drumming!
Actually Holistic, Dragofly Moonspread their wings and came to Essex for the first time in March! It seems Azalia and I were in the same workshop and sitting in the same row but didn't know it until after lol!
I think Scott is absolutely fantastic on his workshops!

RE: Drumming!
How very funny! 😀
I didn't know they'd been to Essex and it doesn't appear on their diary page, because they're VG about updating it:
[link= http://www.dragonflymoononline.co.uk/new_page_5.htm ]http://www.dragonflymoononline.co.uk/new_page_5.htm[/link]
I shall hopefullybe drumming with them on 18 June, at Weston-super-Mare, so if any HPers are going, l'll look forward to meeting you.
There's now a mugshot in my profile, for ID purposes for this kind of thing 😀
EDITED to change original wording re my profile, also - my bish - I'd said originallythey were teachingnext Sunday, should've checked my diary 😮

Here are a couple more links:
[link= http://www.sunshinedrumming.co.uk/ ]http://www.sunshinedrumming.co.uk/[/link]
whose events page has been updated since I last looked at the site a week or so ago. They were mentioned - though not by name -by Venetian in theHi and Greetingsthread: [link= http://www.healthypages.net/forum/fb.asp?m=316107 ]http://www.healthypages.net/forum/fb.asp?m=316107[/link]
Another I've drummed with at Weston-Super-Mare, and can recommend.
Among other things, they're doing a drumming workshop on Saturday15 Julyat:

Big website, big event 7-16 July, music and much, much more.

RE: Drumming!
Hi Holistic,
did you get to Scott's drumming workshop today? We had a fantastic time at the Healing festival and joined in a couple of his workshops. Somerset Angel bought her husband a Didgereedo (sp?) for his birthday and we had to get Scott to show us how to show him how to play it lol!

RE: Drumming!
No, unfortunately. I set off, got stuck in a traffic jam ... the heat and fumes made me feel so ill, I turned round and came home to my cool stone cottage.
Disappointing, but my health and wellbeing came first. Avoiding heatstroke was more important than worrying about the fee I'd paid.
Thiscoming Sunday though I'll hopefully be drumming with Scott at Weston Super Mare.
Were you there today? Would I have known you anyway, if I had made it? 😀

RE: Drumming!
Oh what a shame but you are quite right to put your health first. No, we did not go as my friend and I were driving back to Essex as she had a plane to catch at 6.30 for Spain! It took us over 6 hours and no air con in the hired car...phew.......!!

ps
I really embarrassed myself in front of Scott lol! The four of us were going to one of his workshops but decided to go to the loo before so as to be'comfortable'. As we approached the loos Scott came out of one and I, (in my innocence!) said " we're just getting ourselves ready for you Scott". He clapped his hand to his forehead and cried out "blimey, you don't hear that every day!!!" and walked off laughing his head off (oh the shame).
RE: Drumming!
That'll be good for a leg-pull when I seeScott on Sunday 😀
I've sent links to Billto this thread and your new one re the weekend in my email of apology for not showing up.

RE: Drumming!
oh, I missed the Frome Festival.
I wonder if anyone is planning to go to Dragonfly workshops/concerts in the south West?
i am tempted to go to the one in Cheltenham for the workshops and performances ...
In reply to the person enquiring about Drumming in Scotland: have you ever seen/heard Taiko drumming? there is a Japanese-Scottish Taiko drumming band called Mugyenko, based in Livingstone, touring the whole world! I watched them twice and have never experienced anything like that before: I LOVED it. I even did a workshop with them, but found out I was hopeless.;)

Do you mean dragonflymoon, as mentioned often earlier in this thread? If so, yes, I drum with them quite a lot. Scott, referred to in the most recent posts, is one half of dragonflymoon.
I'll return to this later - a late meal is calling 😉

RE: Drumming!
yes, that is what I meant....sorry.
I am thinking of going to see them in Cheltenham later this year (better train connections for me).
Hope to see you there!
