Hi all

I was delighted when I found, in Real Foods, a free magazine called: Complementary and Alternative Therapies Scotland. The current and back issues an be found here:

Of interest to those of us who are Scottish therapists, is that they have a Directory of qualified and insured therapists. We register our details and send them proof of our accreditation. It's a great idea. The website is here:

However, I've written to them telling them that the site, whilst a fabulous idea, is slow.

1. It's soooooo slow - so slow to open pages that one in fact thinks it doesn't work. This will mean that folk on slow set-ups will give up. Thus they are losing potential eyeballs and we (who pay to register) close potential clients. I've hence asked them to move it to a decent hosting service. It's clear that it's currently being hosted on someone's old desktop computer. That's not good enough.

2. The second problem is that the drop-down list of therapies only goes as far as the depth of your computer sreen. Which is fine if you are viewing from a massive desktop monitor, but useless if you are accessing from a laptop. Nearly *all* university students (the stats are way over 80%) have personal laptops. When they graduate (and again the stats show they will be the majority of our clients) they will be accessing from a laptop. And, final stat is that when people buy a computer for personal use the number of laptops being sold has just crept over that of desktops - at 52%. So, 52+% of folk looking at the site won't be able to read the full list. That's not a problem if you are a Bowen Techniquer or an Aromatherapist at the top of the list - but not so good if you are a Reflexologist or Yoga teacher at the end of the list.

Please think about emailing Pat, at email above. I do think it's a great idea, but they have to up their game a bit if they wish more folk to use it.

Whew... rant over!

Thanks for that Ava,

I'm looking in to it now. I did get a magazine at a function ages ago, but never saw or was able to find out where to get them again.

Love light and laughter 🙂
