I live in the Ribble Valley in Lancashire, but was also born and bred in Manchester (Hulme). I love going on the Manchester Libraries Website, and looking at photos of all the old streets that I remember. i just posted a thread, asking about fello mancs! der ! didnt notice this untill i did it, i must have totally missed it somehow [8D].

Im from Manchester,, still live in Manchester, have moved back and forth and back again! crikey,, cant stand the place!! no there are some nice bits,,like in my fridge after ive been to morrisons.. :D. its just in the blood!:)

i was born in salford..moved around as i got older.lived in heywood from1976 to1981.it was the best place we lived.20yrs on.my kids loved it there and my son took me up there in the car last week.oh how its changed for the better.id love to move back there.there is so many lovely memories .of my children and the photos i have...were in heywood do you live...

I lived in Collyhurst until I was 12 then we moved to Heywood - out to the country!;)

Fancy that, you lived in Heywood. I moved here when I was 12 onto Darnhill, then got married and moved to Rochdale, then moved back to Heywood in 1978. I live in Hopwood now, do you know it? Whereabouts did you live? If you visit Heywood again you'll have to let me know and you can come round for coffee. 🙂

Hi, i'm in Stalybridge which is nearish manchester - moved from Stockport - used to live in Didsbury, Heaton Moor and Stockport Town - born and bred in Yorkshire though so not a true Manc.

Wow! Ive never been in the regional area before - its interesting to see names of places i know so well!

I live in chorlton just now, but lived in bury for 4 years before that and Ramsbottom before that, which i loved... (prior to that was in native scotland).

Must say i love living in Chorlton - its a great place!

Feels like a smaller world in here now!

even though...um....its been almost a year since anyone posted in here...

just found this thread (topic?)... I was born in Harpurhey, grew up in Newton Heath and Failsworth, spent a bit of time in Hulme, Oldham, Levenshulme, Gorton, Fallowfield, and Openshaw before moving to my current home in Swinton. Nice to hear some of the places I know mentioned!!!

I moved to Manchester back in 2003, and was initially living in Urmston. Then moved to Whitefield for about 3 years and am now currently residing in West Didsbury - which is really lovely, despite the pretentious atmosphere.
I really like Chorlton, just up the road, for it's boho and friendly nature - should really venture up there more often, you gotta love Unicorn!

Anyone who ever comes on this thread up for a therapy swap??

Yeah, I think that appears to be a running theme from what I read throughout the thread. Though sometimes just posting something random bumps the thread back into action (in theory). I think I've seen a few of the others posting on here in other threads... but then again, I haven't been on here that often since I joined up! Terrible!

Wow, another Whitefield veteran! I lived there between the ages of 19 to 23, and it's not a place where I had too much fun to be honest - was quite happy to leave for somewhere a bit more 'happening'... does that mean I've sold out?? hahaha

Where do you live now then? I suspect you've already posted it on here, but haven't read the thread back. And what therapies do you practice?

HIYA just wanted to introduce myself! i am becca and i live in bury!!woo woo lol!
i am currently waiting for an interview at city college manchester on holistic therpies!i hate this waiting around..i want to get started!!
my ultimate goal is to train as a complementary therapist(i think) and i want to train in as many therapies as i can.......erm dont know what else to say really!

i am 19 which means i will have to pay for my course....which is going to be difficult as i have 2 baby boys:eek:

Why aren't you going to Bury college - it must be closer for you? and have you asked about grants etc? (or am I interfering-sorry)

Hello everyone!

Well I'm originally a Devonshire lass, but have lived all over the place. Manchester(ish) places have included Stockport, Disley, West Didsbury, Whitefield and currently Chorlton which I'm finding to be a lovely place.

I'm practicing acupuncture in Chorlton and volunteering 2 days a week at the Creative Living Centre in Prestwich.

I'm also interested in doing therapy swaps so feel free to get to get in touch over that or if anyone has any questions about acupuncture.
