Whats everyone doing

Hi ophilia, I find that I just join in with any threads, don't really focus on the Ireland forum unfortunately.
I'm in Dublin studying aromatherapy, already qualified in massage.
What other courses are you doing? how are you getting on?

Hi Ophilia, I'm down in Cork! I have done massage (swedish, hot stone, indian head) and Reiki.
You're right - this forum doesn't get enough activity - we'll have to change that 🙂

Welcome Ophilia. I am from Clare. Do therapies in the evenings and weekends as with the big recession need to work full time! I do massage, hot stone, Indian Head, Ear candling, Reiki, Reflexology and maternity reflex. Hope to do something new in the near future, you gotta keep going...... Think I would like aromatherapy as I love the oils but don;t like the price of the courses!!!

Candy I live just down the road from Swords, can you tell me more details about the Colon Hydrotherapy...kind of scared to try it so would like to know a bit more about it.

Candy that's one impressive list of treatments! How long have you been in the therapy business? Your website is beautiful (my favourite colour!)

enchanted_hands - I haven't forgotten about the hopi ear candling but never felt fully comfortable with it! Having said that though, I had a lot of problems with my ears last year and went to a therapist for hopi but she refused to do it after seeing 'white stuff' inside my ear. I went back to doc and he insisted it was just skin, so I never got my treatment

Its really good to see everyone getting into this. Well I qualified in aroma and massage last year and this year am doing reiki (doing my level II thursday) reflexology and indian head have my cert exam in tui na tomorrow so thats why i haven't been back in a while. All study. But there is just so much out there that I want to to. It really is an area where you would be studying for life lol 😀

Hello to all you Irish therapists.

I am based in London and qualified in Holistic massage. doing deep tissue at the end of the month and want to learn more more more. I'm hoping to move back home to Belfast this year so I guess I'll be on this board more often. Now that I know it exists!

looking for example questions in nail technology

I have my ITEC exams finished last june for holistic massage.. now I am doing course in nail technology doing gel nails.. have theory paper with multiple choice questions in 2 weeks. if anyone has sample questions would you please post... thanks a mill ~ angel smiles to all. 🙂 barbara xxx

Hiya Secret Angel, good luck with your exams, sorry I can't help you with papers, my nails are non existent due to doing massage etc though they grow like wildfire from all the oils I use!

I practice Colon Hydrotherapy from Applewood Medical centre on Mondays. A fantastic treatment for a general detox or just to kick start a new regime. I can forward you some literature, if you like?

Thank you Stardust. My favorite colour too. Did my first massage course in 1993 alongside Fitness Instruction. Have been studying continuously since 2002. I guess its easy to continue. The idea is that each of the therapy's compliment each other and allow me to access greater healing for my clients. I am lucky to be able to work in a field which I am passionate about

Hi secretangel, I have asked around about sample questions, no one has them yet, my friends don't sit their exams until June....i think there are some on the past papers section of the forum...or do a search for them. Sorry I couldn't be of any more help.

i have the itec sample theory papers book, i bought it from their web site, and it has q&a for nail technology and complementary therapy, beauty therapy, sports therapy, if you pm me with an address i can send you a copy. it only gives 25 questions and the answers but it might help;).

I'm doing reflexology, indian head and reiki. Got the reflex done but only starting the ihm. Its sooo repetitive your eyes would be swimming haha :p

Are you doing ITEC Ophilia?

Case studies are hard going with studying the books too but so worth it in the end so keep the motivation up. Best of luck with them!

Sorry for the late reply Rachel, no I'm dong CIBTAC, but I'm sure it's mostly the same. Someone told me recently FETAC are introducing an aromatherapy course and are encouraging any colleges that have students getting grants to do this course. The course only studys 2 essential oils!! That really is making little of course run in these areas in my opinon anyway 🙂
