Mornin all, long time no "see":D
We are off on our family holidays soon. We will be going to the Isle of Wight, but will be staying in Southampton the day before we catch our ferry. I just wanted to know if there were any local recomendations of where to visit? I got the places from spinal musics thread, just would like extra options. My 2 children are 8 and 6 so anything to catch their imigination would be great, and nothing too expensive.
Your views would be greatly appreciated
Cheers in advance

RE: Southampton
We've just visited Exbury Gardens, if you put in a search on the internet, the page will come up. 200 acres of gardens and they also have a steam railway.
It's about 5-10 miles on the outskirts of Southampton.
RE: Southampton
The Tudor House.Fascinating (and old!!!). Can't remember the name of the street - seem to remember it is near the big swimming pool. It isn't far from the docks (I was born near S'ton docks). Lived near S'ton until about 35 years ago - probably wouldn't recognise any of it nowadays!
re Southampton
Hi,
Tudor House Museum is in a street called Bugle Street, it's a very good museum, with a lovely Tudor Garden.
