Hi,
My sonlives in Winchester and I sometimes go and take my little granddaughter out for the day.Recently we have been to Marwell Zoo, the seaside - on advicewe went to the Witterings- this was too far! and today we went to theMarina at Southampton and watched the boats and the world go by.
They will be there for a couple more months and I'll probably need to find at least 4 more days out - is there anywhereyou could suggest? Is there a sandy beach nearer than the Witterings for instance?

Hi Sharon

You might like to visit Buckler's Hard :-

Buckler's Hard is a picturesque 18th century village on the banks of the Beaulieu River in the heart of the New Forest. Historically, it is famed as the place where some of the ships of Nelson's fleet were built, but whether your interest is as a visitor - as an individual, family, group or educational party - or as a sailor wishing to moor in the River, the things to see and enjoy are as varied as the history of the area itself.

Don't forget to take some food for the ducks. Your grandaughter should like that. 😀

Also Exbury gardens nearby is quite pretty and they have a steam train there to go on which should be good fun.

There is lots to do in Portsmouth, if that is not too far for you to go:

Spinnaker Tower

Hope this helps.

Best wishes

Finkley Down Farm in Andover is nice. It's a family ran farm for children.

In Basingstoke, there is a bowling alley, and right next to it an ice skating ring, places to eat and also a cinema (all in the same complex)

The New Forest Otter, Owl and Wildlife Park.

I found this website to about things to do in Hampshire for kids.

Hope this helps.

Love

Birdworld is great for little ones. Frensham Big Pond is a great alternative to the seaside for picnics, little pond for dog walking and nature walks. Take her jam jar fishing in a shallow river. Turn your dining table into a tent with bedspreads and put in in the garden. - hours of fun!
