RE: Festivals and groups

hi, i live in cumbria also. I dont know of any events or groups but I know there are plenty of wiccans and pagans around these parts. I would say your best bet is to visit the variousstone circles at key times in the pagan calender to meet a few people!

Hiya, Dr M! Good to see you back at HP, sorry I didn't get a minute to greet you on your returning thread 🙂

There are quite a number of links to websites in the Pagan and Wicca forums where regional contacts can be made, eg through the Pagan Federation.

RE: Festivals and groups

I agree with you about West Cumbria being a black hole.. (I am also interested in Pagan and Witchcraft)

I used to live in Whitehaven, have two daughters living there..

I, at the moment live in Cockermouth, which is very quiet, very peaceful........ But there's nothing of interest here unless you liKe quilting, lace making.. walking..

I like walking, don't get me wrong, the scenery is lovely, but I'm BORED.

How do you get to the stone circles if you don't drive and the bus time tables are awful

Hi everyone ......I have organised pagan festivals in the past (Skiddaw Hotel in Keswick back in 2004) and various 'open' celebrations at stone circles and caves. We went to France for 3 years in 2005, but now we are back near Wigton.
Our Coven has been going for over 14 years, and now we are looking to re-build it as some of our initiates are moving on. One is going around the world for a year, another has gone to teach in Liverpool and a couple of others have hived off to form new covens (USA and France). I am hoping to look at organising something for next year.....maybe an open Beltane ritual on the seashore near Allonby, or in one of the circles (we like Long Meg as its not as busy as Castlerigg). If anyone has ideas or needs help in starting something then I am happy to lend whatever assistance I can.
Cumbria is a hard place in which to find other pagan/wiccans at times, but by being fairly open I hope to make it easier for others to discover their own particular paths.
To all of you in Cumbria.........bright blessings!
in love and light
Lakewitch.

Pagans in Whitehaven

Sorry I haven't been here for a while, lost the link, Pc crashed. Moved house 3 times, moving on Samhain again. Going back home to Whitehaven.

Both my daughter and I are are interested in joining a Pagan group there, if there is one. Neither of us drive though.

Anyone interested in getting together for chat?
