So sad to hear the news today. He had poor health though and said he was ready for death.
He touched many of us deeply with his songs. Hallelujah was an acclaimed masterpiece.
I loved his music back in the 60's and 70's. Such deep meaning. He was unique.
Was pleased to have found him reciting On Flanders Fields - very appropriate.
I was fortunate enough to see him play live, such a voice and a really gentleman

Yes me too - back in the 1970s (at the Royal Albert Hall).
I recently watched the 2 documentaries that BBC4 aired last Friday.....
Yesterday, he was very much with me - on my mind, having the benefit of seeing him from those documentaries. The song "Dance With Me Until The End Of Love" playing in my head, on a loop! Such a sultry, haunting song sung in that attractive, rasping voice of his.
Such a sad loss.
