Hi Folks. 🙂
I am teddyluff, a 4 month old Westie saying Hello.
I also want some help if you can, Please.
I have a Fungal infection which has made me itch a lot and I have anti-biotics from the vet also, but I keep trying to scratch myself,
Can anyone suggest some way of covering my chest, so that it can breathe and heal, without me being able to scratch it. Akward I know, and I have been keeping my mum and dad up trying to stop me going mad.
If this has been covered before, I appologise, but I am a newbie and did have a look.
Can anyone help me please, so we can all get some sleep, snoreeeeeeeeeeeeeeee xxx:(
Thanks ,Teddyluff
RE: Westie Skin Protection whilst healing
Hi teddyluff
You could try asking your Mummy if you can borrow a pair of her socks. She might need to tape them at the top if they are too big for your little puppy legs unless there are any baby humans in your household? Or if your Mummy feels like spoiling you she might be able to buy you special doggy socks from Pets at Home although they're quite expensive so it might have to come out of your biscuit allowance. Anyway the socks will stop you hurting yourself when you have a scratch. It would be best not to put anything on your chest itself if it's a fungal problem in case it makes it warm and damp which is just how those nasty fungi like it! It will heal quicker if it's left open so the air can get to it.
Hope you're feeling better soon teddy
PS I bet you're dead cute, any chance of a piccie?
RE: Westie Skin Protection whilst healing
Hi Wickie.
Gosh, not many westies of my age are Pc literate! good job my dad is an IT Technician, so I managed to pick up some tips.
I tried socks, back and front, but I always manage to be naughty and get them off and get into trouble.
I will try again tonight as I was a good boy until this morning, when I managed a 2 minute period on my own and got my scabs off which were healing nicely, BIG Trouble.
I will find ut how to post a pic and send you one.

RE: Westie Skin Protection whilst healing
Hi Teddyluff,I'm Tara...Labrador, I had wet eczema for 12 month and was getting antibiotic cream from the vet all that time, my mums friend suggested Neem Cream, in two month my skin is all healed up and my hair is growing back ! The neem took away the itchy and even though sometimes Iwanted to natter at it (just cos I have become addicted to nattering my skin now) mum also got some powder from her friend, it's from pets at home and its called vetzyme veterinary antibacterial powder, get your mum or dad to get you some too. Big licks and wags Tara xx
