Hi..
Has anyone noticed and I put the word wave, as it makes me think of a wave or energy coming from the birds..
If you wake up early, and listen to the dawn chorus... and I had never noticed it before, you can hear the birds chorus, from a distance, and it gradully gets closer and closer, and it amazed me that the birds, did not start all the same time...
One of the wonders in life, I feel is hearing the birds early in the morning.. even if u do wish you were still asleep lol
Just wanted to share that thought

RE: The Wave of the Dawn Chorus..
What a lovely thought Flower. I love listening to birds, epecially when they sing in the evenings/night time (does anyone else notice that this is more common now than it used to be?).
RE: The Wave of the Dawn Chorus..
Yes me too 😀 our garden birds come and have their evening bath around 6pm and then start singing from then until about 9/10pm depends on the weather really...

RE: The Wave of the Dawn Chorus..
For the past week or so I have been woken up about 3.30am to the sound of the Dawn Chorus and it is wonderful to just lie there and listen to all the different songs combining to make such a wonderful sound!

RE: The Wave of the Dawn Chorus..
Hi.
I also like the birds singing in the evening esp if the sun is out/going down, and tweet tweet.. what makes me smile is we have lots of plants in our garden with lots of shaded areas for the birds to get worms and slugs etc.. but, do they want that ... well most of the time, but they will go and find a space where there bark.. throw all the bark of the dirt onto the gravel path lol.. but also, when they do go to their shaded parts, they walk across the grass, dont give a damm that you are there also, as in no fear, and hop hop hop across.. I think birds are wonderfu...

Hi Doogle
Yes I have noticed a distict increase in bird song. Especially in the evening. I don't know much about different species of birds but I find them quite fascinating.
I live in a London suburb but we are blessed with plenty of birds. We see a lot more blue tits now (hurrah!) pigeons and magpies (boo!) plus black birds and although they say they are dying out quite a few sparrows. I saw a group of swifts flying the other day first thing in the morning then later on about 6pm.
I wish I knew what the bird is that sits on a TV arial and make a beautiful sound every evening. I've tried looking through binoculars at it but cannot make out what it is. It looks the size of thrush so maybe it's a song thrush. It has many varied notes.
RE: The Wave of the Dawn Chorus..
:DWe have a huge Acacia tree in our back garden, and every evening just befor dusk we have about 100 Indian Miners (South African) fly to the top of this tree, and the beautifull song they make, just as the day in ending, brings joy to my soul. I just love it, and feel blessed to have them choose a tree in my garden.
RE: The Wave of the Dawn Chorus..
Hi yes i have noticed this all spring /summer the birds are amazing listening to there beautifull songs, i get up at 5.am and sit in the garden just to listen to them lol 🙂
RE: The Wave of the Dawn Chorus..
Me too. I just love to sit in the garden about 5 am listening to the birds singing and watching their activities. We have had two families of blackbirds nesting in out garden this year and they behave as if they are part of the family. They have become used to me putting out some food when I first get up so you should hear the noise if I have a layin. They do make me smile as they will be sat on the garden lamps which are around the patio - waiting. When I take their food to them they don't fly away which I find amazing - they just carry on eating it as if I am not there. I do feel so blessed

RE: The Wave of the Dawn Chorus..
I used to enjoy hearing the dawn chorus, until recently that is....
Now most mornings we are awaken by crows/ravens, making the most ugly noise, not their normal noise (a bit like a very bad duck whistle!), right outside our bedroom window, and the funny thing is everytime you get up, draw back the curtains to see which tree they are in, they all go very quiet! Pull the curtains back together, climb back into bed and off they go again [:@]. Are they really watching my window? Are birds really this clever! Maybe I've upset a neighbour and they have a duck whistle!
