Did anyone see the programme on BBC2 the other night on taxidermy?
What a hideous bunch of people they were. I can perhaps understand (although not for me) someone wanting their beloved pet stuffed but these people were something else.
They delighted in killing a beautiful animal, the more beautiful the better, so as they could then skin it and subsequently stuff it.
There was a girl of nine out with her father on her first big shoot where she proudly shot a deer and held its dead body next to hers for photos to be taken.....Dad was so proud.
They showed a safari in Africa where they desparately wanted to bag a leopard. They first killed a deer as bait which they hung in a tree. Unfortunately a lion got to it first and that was subsequently shot. They then killed a monkey and this did the trick and a beautiful leopard was slain. Oh the joy of the hunters.
It was torture to watch.
RE: Taxidermy
I watched it to and thought the side of going out to kill something just to stuff it was awful to. That leopard was beautiful 🙁
RE: Taxidermy
I saw part of the programme too and thought it was disgraceful. There is absolutely no justification in killing an animal for the reason of stuffing it.
When will there be an end to our cruelty in the name of sport or hobby.

RE: Taxidermy
I saw a couple of minutes but I had to switch TV off as I thought I was going to be sick. These people are seriously beyond my comprehension. I am praying that one day they will realise how disgusting their "hobby" is. I don't know what else to do.

RE: Taxidermy
One thing that struck me was that the programme makers were very clever.
They rarely commented on what was going on and just let the peoples actions speak for themselves.
