Hi guys

I have just been wondering, if you have a pet, what his/her name is. I am always fascinated by the wide variety of names that people chose. I have come across some pets with... huim,an names, such as Harry, Bill, jack and so on. I have also come across pet's with the most weird names such as twinle, sparky, bonbon, fluffy and so on. Mind you I suppose I have not done much better. But I am just curious. BTW my cat is called Pebbles. And he is GREAT!

RE: Pet's name

Hi all,

Cats again, I'm afraid..............at home with my mum and dad our cat was called "sevs" which was short for 7 claws, which she had on both front and back paws. You should have seen her digging a hole to do her business in the garden, she was an earthmover extraordinaire.

The cat my mum and Dad bought us for our 1st anniversary, we named spider as he was rather fond of climbing the curtains, the flocked wallpaper(1980), in fact anything that he wasn't supposed to. Thankfully he grew out of the habit as he got older, put on weight and discovered the delights of the lady cats in the neighbourhood.

RE: Pet's name

What a brilliant topic, you have took me back a few years trying to remember all the pets I have had, I love animal's and would love to live somewhere with a bit of land so I could have some chickens a pig and a couple of goats, but until that happens I will give you the list of the animal's that I have grown up with.

When I was a child my parents had a poodle called "Trudy", who gave bith to three puppies called "Coffee" "Candy" and "Aka Bilk" ( dont ask!!) also a cat called "Flooky" and a budgie called "Beauty".

Then when I left home my parents bought me a zerba finch, and I called her "Dee Dee", then came along a puppy called "Bonny" who at the age of 1 1/2 yrs managed to get through the wraught iron gate I had at the side of the house and was never to be seen again, I cannot tell you how upset I was to lose her she was my very first Dog and a Border Collie at that, and I can only think that someone put her in their car, as I had rewards out and everything for her, and I was roaming the streets hours and days but never found her again, I still have lovely photo's of her though.

After missing her so much I went to a dog home to find a dog that needed loveing and came across a heinz 57 which I called Lucky she was beautiful, then three more dogs called "Budley" "Muffin" and "Barbie" they were all brothers and sister's as my Sister in law's Dog had 9 puppys and I said I would take one of her hands but ended up with Three!!!!

When they all passed away, which the two boys did on the same day about 4 hours apart, I had a break for a bit, until a year and a half ago, I heard about a 7yr old Westie called "Tracker" who was not haveing much of a life living in fact in a garage, as the owners wife was too house proud to have him in doors, well I took him straight away, and he is just adorable, thinks he has died and gone to heaven coz he sleeps where he like's mostly on my bed!!!!.

Also through out the raine of the Dogs i have fostered cats too, they seem to come to my house with a suit case and then leave when they want, which on some accassions has been very upsetting, but to date we still have "Chun-Li" the street fighter who never goes out haha, a maniac cat called "Tyla" who just gets up to all sorts, and last but not least "Savaloy" who unfortunetly has a bit of a fear problem, which I am going to write about on the pet page to see if anyone can help, as she is just so frightened, she wont even come down stairs bless her.

The other cats that have come and gone are "Monty" who got run over out the front by a huligan, he was my Daughter Jody's cat and she was devestated, also "Max" who came for about 2yrs and then decided he wanted to go and live in the next road up from us, and cats being cats there is not a lot you can do about it, so I often see him when I go see my friend and he always comes and gives me a hug, but just wont come home any more.

So there we have it apart from a few gerbils and hampster's that have also had a lovely life with us, Zubra being the one hampster we have at the moment, that is it apart from my Two lovely Children Robby and Jody, we just all love animals.

RE: Pet's name

I have two hamsters, mother and daughter (although not in the same cage!) The mother is called 'Nibbles' and the daughter is called 'Biscuit.' 'Nibbles' got her name after she bit my brother's finger, and I named the daughter 'Biscuit' because she was the colour of a 'Rich Tea' when she was tiny.

They are adorable, and they love me, and I them.

Love, Patsy.

RE: Pet's name

Max and Minnie are rather plump because they were neutered too young. If I put them on a diet their coats go manky, so plump they remain.

They're from the same litter and were in a terrible, wretched state when I rescued them from a friend's neighbour. They are now very content - Max is a bit dim and a real tart, he'll sit on anyone. Minnie is brighter but not a lap-cat. She nuzzles a lot and gets distressed if I'm away for more than 48 hours. They were 15 months old when I got them, they'll be 6 in May.

I'm afraid they were originally named after British Leyland transverse models, their names are short for (Austin) Maxi and (Austin) Mini. (I'm not sure if there will ever be Allegro, Ambassador, Princess or Landcrab...)
They are commonly known to our friends as the M&Ms.

love from
