Hi Peeps

Wondering if you could give me advice...

There is a gorgeous cat next door which has flees (you can see them jumping!!) the poor little thing keeps scratching and cutting her face, everythime I see her she`s always sratching (god, making me itch now!!). Not sure what I should do as I don`t want to interfer and say something to my neighbour, but I really feel for the cat..mustn`t be nice to keep doing that..

Any advise any natural remedies I could put on her...with my neighbour sussing anything.... I would think they fleas would be on his carpet too!! eek...

Another part of me thinks I should leave it, but she`s hurting herself in the process which isn`t fair on her...

Lx

I think its illegal for you to treat a cat that doesn't belong to you, however good your intentions are. Its a difficult one because you don't want to see an animal in pain but you don't know what medication they've already taken (if any).

You could always try the complete round about approach and buy some flea stuff, take it round and say that you were given it but don't have a cat so you wondered if they could make any use of it.

Unfortunately its high flea season at the moment so everything is scracthing!

are you certain you can't be honest with your neighbour, factual but kind? i'm thinking that if someone came to me with such an offer i'd see the truth of it x

RE: Next Doors Pussy Cat!!

I would recommend you speak with your neighbour and perhaps innocently say "Is your cat ok, I notice that she happens to be in some discomfort". You can then maybe say "She doesn't have fleas does she?"

I don't think it's illegal to treat an animal for fleas, it's not like you are giving it antibiotics is it? The only problem is that if there are fleas in the house, the cat will get re-infected again.

I would have a word with the neighbour, if they take no action, I would report them to the RSPCA, the poor cat is suffering and I wouldn't allow the cat to suffer. All calls are confidential so no-one would ever know you made the call.

I'm sure if you have a quiet word with the neighbour they will do the right thing.
