RE: i need help!

Don't stress out about it on the first day, probably ok by the next day.
I'm looking after 2 10 week old pups this w/e and my own 3 were obsessed yesterday, haven't bothered over much today.

As long as she is not harming the puppy , and she shouldn't, then after a few days it really does settle down.

Is your bitch neutered? if not is she due in season? in which case she may dote on the puppy.

Just assume role as pack leader to make your boxer feel confident, and make it clear you handle the puppy, not her

Is it around food/ feeding times? thats the main area of contention. Another thing to watch for is the puppy's very sharp claws and teeth, and sometimes an adult dog will tell a baby off. But as long as you supervise and can give the pup a safe area for when you can't, it should all be ok.

WishI had a larger garden!!!

RE: i need help!

We are right in the middle of toilet training these 2 who are here until later today.
I get them outside as fast as poss first thing, bit hard with 3 other dogs too, but they go out directly.
Always let them out before a meal and when they perform loads of praise, then after they have eaten, take them out, they may not do anything this time, but as they mature they will.
But always after waking and after feeding, and always praise when they do it, but never tell them off in the house, just put them outside and clean it up, white vinegar is good as a final rinse, kills the smell.
Average pup takes about 3 to 4 weeks, but there will be accidents after that and the absolute max time is 4 hours even for an adult dog during the day, just be consistent and loads of praise when they get it right, and ignore when its wrong
Its always more work on your part with 2nd and more pups as leaving paper down is difficult, so you have to extra diligent.
These 2, this a.m they both pee'd outside and one poo'ed, the other one had beaten me to it and done it in the crate, but they are only 10 weeks and 2 days old

RE: i need help!

I'm a Petminder, and I board dogs from time to time. have thought of fostering but sometimes the poor things are so off the wall and still can be very physically impaired it would be difficult with 3 reasonably healthy able bodied dogs already in situ, and they really do need one to one careat a constant level. So I compromise and try to fund raise for dog charities, I also sponsor a chap called Herbie with the Dogs Trust.

Glad its improving with the puppy, you'll get there
