Hi
I have had my dog for about 1 year now and he had a thing about digging in the garden in the same place but he did stop now he has started again.
It is not a big hole and he is not trying to get out it is always in the same place and not that deep.
Does anybody know why and have a idea how to stop him as the wife is going to kill him (only joking)

thanks

RE: HELP

Hi Carl

From my experience and from reading various dog books it seems it is only natural for dogs to dig. You should try not to discourage it, but give it a 'diggable' area. Easier said than done I know 😮

Do you have moles in the garden? My folks' dog has a penchant for digging where moles have been in a futile attempt to get to them!

RE: HELP

He may have buried a bone or toy there? I had a terrier who had loads of plastic toys with squeaks in, once he had killed the squeak he buried the toys, with their ears tails or legs sticking up.

Another terrier began a hole 10 years ago, then she had help from2 goldies and it is enormous, the goldies use it in very hot weather to keep cool in.

Dogs dig!!
