I've got a 8 month old kitten, I love her to pieces, she came from a hideous home, her fur was in awful condition, she stank, it was vile, the scary part being it was from a friend I knew, I reported them to the RSPCA etc. The cat however has never grown out of the habit she gained there, of peeing on furniture! Every method and I'm talking for the last 7 months I've tried the LOT hasnt worked for her.

The time has come with me starting full time college and not going to be around so much to admit defeat, I'm in a rented furnished too and shes now started on their furniture 🙁

I just cant cope anymore. 🙁

So please wish her well in finding her a wonderful new home!

Poor kitten, I hope that she soon finds a new home where she can be happy.

You did the best that you could so don't feel bad, you saved her from a home that weren't able to care for her so you should feel proud for being about to make a small difference to this little creature.

My tom used to pee in the sink/bath when I got him (and still tries it at the vets....lol). The only thing that stopped him doing it, was me to have the sinks/bath full of water all of the time to deter him, took quite a number of months before he stopped regularly getting his feet wet.

My thoughts are with you and the cat.

Sorry to hear it has come to this for you and kitty 🙁

How are you going to go about finding her a home? It's going to be difficult finding someone to take her on, given her problems...

Have you got a local cat rescue that can help you?
Good luck and I'll send positive thoughts to you and kitty.

It might be worth ringing the RSPCA being as they have already been involved and asking them to rehome your kitty. I have just recently got a cat from them and it was really well looked after in its foster home and they offered me loads of support when I bought him home as he was classed as a 'special needs' cat (he had issues!!!LOL) They done a home check as well so at least you would know that they would find your cat a nice home.

Hi There,

It's been a while since I owened a cat..so my memory is a bit rusty ..

This used to work wonders on our kitty: try buying a lemon or Orange scented essential oil that is diluted enough so it wont be toxic to you or your cat..and place a few drops on th furnitures..(if you get the neat one, dilute it your self in some carrier oil like grapeseed oil).

If this doesn't work , they do say they hate strong ammonia smell....not sure where you would go for these!!!

Can anyone suggest please?

Good luck..I am sending you both some reiki healing..so you can both move on happily and peacefully 🙂

with warm wishes

Have you tried Feliway? Peeing on furniture is probably a reaction to stress and the cat trying to mark its territory. Feliway mimics the happy smell they deposit when they rub their face up against things and creates a soothing atmosphere for the animal. Try a plug in diffuser for whole room treatment, but also a spray which you can use on the furniture she pees on. It is not cheap, but really does work. I have also used homeopathic remedies with my cats, and Bach flower remedies.

Hi Angel
I had a similar situation with a puppy. It broke my heart to give her away and I felt so guilty. But I had also tried everything I knew to get her to stop soiling. I contacted the RSPCA and they rehomed her. On a very positive note she went to a couple who worked with animals who were difficult to manage and I saw her last year and she has grown into a beautiful healthy and happy dog.

Sending you and the kitty positive thoughts and Reiki hugs.

Linda x
