Hiya Everyone
Went out today with my dog in the car and my sis-in-law took her dog in her car. He is only 3 months old, but everytime she puts him in the car, her gets car sickness really bad.
Any ideas how to stop this in a dog?
Love Angel x

RE: Dog Gets Car Sickness
Hi Angel
We had similar problems when our border collie was a puppy (she is now 6). She was dreadfully sick about 5 times in a row!!! We got round it by spending a week of putting her in the car (we have an estate) on a rubber mat and sitting with her for about 5 minutes. Then out again, then going back a few minutes later. We also drove about 3 minutes, to a local woodland walk - took her round the walk (30 mins) and back in the car and home - 4 times in a day. The next day, no sitting inthe back of the car, just drove to the wood and walked - 4 times again. Next day, drove to a different scenic walk, which is about 8 minutes drive - this walk involves a lake, so she got to paddle too! We did this twice in one day. I made sure that the amount of time she was in the car increased by a few minutes each day. By the end of the week, we went for about 40 minutes to the beach. She has been fine since - trouble is, she gets so excited about being in the car, that we now have to start with the original walk (local wood)just to calm her down! She sits/lies in the car if we are busy in the garden - just observing and hoping!
