Ski my little angel is driving me mad, its all my fault he is spoilt rotten but i am just finding him harder to cope with as time goes on. I thought a behaviourist would be worth a try, any recommendations?
RE: Does anyone know of a good cat behaviourist?
Hi Vicki, I dont know anyone to hand but what kind of problems are you having? Maybe someone here might be able to offer some advice. You can PM me if you want. I'll also put the feelers out for a cat behaviourist.
RE: Does anyone know of a good cat behaviourist?
doogle,
he is just behaving really badly. He is getting quite spiteful (biting) me and my partner – although I admit it is me more and to my other cat who is so layed back and lovely. He can be very affectionate when he wants to be. He wants attention almost constantly, he tries to eat your dinner even though he knows he is not allowed on the table, he is tearing up our new carpet to get into the bedroom every night meaning we not only loose sleep but the carpet is looking all scratched. The last one had a 3 inch hole in it where he does is all the time. He is a very intelligent cat, he can play beep po, hide and seek etc quite easily.
Also I know there is probably nothing to be done about this one, but he is obsessed with catching birds, every waking minute is spent hunting. At the moment I am keeping him in as much as possible to give the fledglings a chance. I am at my wits end!!!

Oh dear, he sounds like a little terror!
I havent had any response yet for a cat behaviourist but I did find that Battersea Dogs Home have a behviour phone line 0905 020 0222 calls cost 25p per minute, they might be able to suggest something.

Hi, I'm no expert on cats, having dogs but it sounds as if Flower Essences could maybe help. They work on the emotions and can be very effective with problem behaviour. Here's a link that could help you choose [DLMURL] http://www.ighawaii.com/naturallypet.html [/DLMURL] That's the Bach remedies which are widely available in chemists, also Bioforce have recently brought out a few combination ones for animals, one of which is Over Dominant - I've been having very good results with it for my dog.
I know cats can be ultra picky about what goes in their mouths so if it's refused in both water and food, you could try putting a couple of drops on the top of the head between the ears and gently rubbing in, it still is absorbed into the system that way, can be remarkably effective! The other way is to put some in a spray bottle and mist some around the animal.
There's a good book about Flower Essences with animals called Dogs Misbehaving by Martin J Scott and Gael Mariani. It is available in the Library and despite the title is for all animals.
The other thing that could help is crystals, I think if it was my cat I'd buy a chunk of Rose Quartz!!
Good luck!

Hi Vicki, I dowse Alaskan flower essences, gem elixirs and environmental essences and may be able to help.
Please email me privately if you are interested. I work by first asking the question "Does ....... need any essences", I will either be given a yes or a no, so the information is coming directly from Spirit with no interference from myself. I will only ask the question though with permission from the owner.
Love and light
