Cat Rescue Organisations
Here are two recent links from the dogs rescue organisations thread, since they also rescue cats:

"Cinnamon Trust is the specialist national charity for elderly or teminally ill people and their companion animals."

They also have a cat section.

Thanks, claudette. A lovely site with a lovely catloving owner from the sound of it. Seems to be quite local to the Brentwood, Essex area ... for those in that part of the world. (I'll just put the link again - for posterity!)

Thanks to you too, Sophie. Wow, a superb site this, from which I'll just quote a couple of little bits:
Our Mission Statement:
"To facilitate the rehoming of unowned cats and kittens nationally through cat rescue groups, and to promote kindness to all animals."
"Cat Chat has one of the largest databases of UK rescue centres on the web!"
There's a map of the UK with a drop down menu to select your area, and the information given is truly comprehensive: Addresses of rescue centres large and small, websites, emails, local phone nos. and, where applicable, national helplines as well, as in eg Cats Protection League. Plus stacks of other useful info.
Renewed thanks to you both for posting.

Hello All :D!
When I saw this thread, I just had to tell you all about my recent experience rehoming 2 beautiful kittens from Battersea.
The whole experience was wonderful, the care and dedication of the staff is just 2nd to none and the animals in their care are so beautifully looked after. Can not recommend this organisation enough.
For anyone that is interested here is their website which gives all the information you need about rehoming a cat (or dog :D) and other useful information. The on-line shop is worth a look as well, brought my new kittens some bits and pieces off of this site and was very impressed with the speed of delivery and the quality of the goods and all profits goe back into looking after the animals.

Hope that helps somebody.

Cats protection are great when it comes to rehoming a cat, I recently got my 4 year old Millie from them. All homes are checked prior to adoption and all cats are neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and come with 6 weeks pet insurance.

Thanks for that, rainbowchild. The correct link for the Cats Protection League is:
It's looks like a lovely site, very comprehensive, and with a lot of useful information.
Thanks again.

RE: Cat Rescue Organisations
Thankyou for the cat ones shall post them for my colleagues to see, as well as the dog ones, sadly from time to time we need to be able to call on the rescue socs.
Yes there is one more!! Worthing and District Animal Rescue Service (WADARS) is based in Worthing, West Sussex. Rehoming cats amongst other animals.
Cats are vaccinated, neutered and microchipped before being rehomed. No fixed adoption fee, instead a donation is requested (taking into account all of the costs above plus the boarding fees where the cats reside before being rehomed).
Home checks are done before adoption and after, ensuring that all is well for both parties. Plus telephone advice is available post-adoption in case of any issues for either cat or owner!
Thanks for sharing
Hey all,
Thanks for sharing the great news. Its a great help you did to me by sharing the post. A relative of mine was planning to adopt a cat, i have given these information and they are on their way to adopt a cat.
I wish we had more help available here in Lanzarote, we have a terrible problem with stray animals. The shelter I work for is past bursting point from the animals that are abondoned in the streets and at our door.
Just today a beautiful siamese cat was left in a hamster cage by one of the volunteers cars, I can't believe how cruel some people are. The cat is now down in the hospital with me where she will be monitored before being put in with the others.

[COLOR="Indigo"]Poor cat, but at least they are now receiving the care and hep they deserve, bless them. The unwanted animal population is a problem everywhere, but without doubt worse in some places 🙁
I am afraid, not much I can do to help, but if you fund-raise, I am more than happy to offer an email Tarot or Angel Card reading as a prize. Please send me a pm if this might be feasible and we can take it from there 🙂

Hi Tarotlady,
Thank you so much for your offer, I have only just seen it otherwise I would have replied before.
I haven't pm'd you because i'm not sure yet how that all works.
Reinali (the siamese cat) has settled in really well, she is in great health and is wonderful with the other cats and so affectionate with people. I don't ever encourage people to leave the cats at the door like that but I am glad they didn't put her in our bins like the 10 puppies we had last week.
I don't know much (well anything really:021: ) about tarot reading but it sounds a great thing to offer, also many of the people that are interested in fundraising are spanish or canarian so how would it work with it being translated?
Thanks again and take care
