Hi guys,
I am half way through my canine massage course (which I am thoroughly enjoying!) and am looking for case studies for levels 2 and 3. Just to give you a brief outline of the course, there are 3 levels, each involves practical and theory studies, I have a thesis to write, practical and written exams, along with 60 case studies (15 dogs) to complete.
So, if anyone would like their dog treated, or know someone else who has a dog that may benefit, then please pm me. I live about 5 miles outside Derby city centre, so the area I'm looking to cover is about a 15 mile radius from Derby. The case studies are similar to ITEC, in that they are free, include a consultation, with four treatment sessions. All carried out in the dogs own home, vets permission must be sought before treatment commences, for which I have a form and some info about the course for the vet to read through.
Massage is great for dogs, just as beneficial as it is for us humans! It can help with arthritis, muscle wastage, hip dysplasia, older dogs, nervous dogs, working dogs and competition dogs, ie. flyball, etc. Even if your dog is ok, but you want to just give him/her a treat, drop me a line!
Please feel free to pm me.
Jo
hugs xx
RE: Canine massage, case studies wanted, derby area
Seems a very strange name for a dog person?
sadly you are too far from me (Essex), but it sounds really interesting

Am a dog/cat/horse person! have 1 dog, 2 cats and 2 horses. Pyewacket comes from a film that I saw a few years ago, called 'Bell, Book and Candle', a romantic comedy from the 50's with Jame Stewart and Kim Novak. Pyewacket was the name of Kim's cat! I was watching the film whilst on this site and thought it was interesting.

What an interesting explanation as to how you chose your name, Pyewacket... we've had a couple of threads on the topic of names!
I just thought you might be interested in this current thread from the Reiki forum, since it concerns massage:

"It's me or the dog" & Reiki
And I'll add a note there to say you're in here! 😀

Hi Holistic,
Thanks for your posting. I saw that episode of "it's me or the dog" and must admit that I was a bit confused at the term "reiki massage". I work part time as a holistic therapist and although I've completed my reiki level 2 and useenergy healing when massaging clients, I never call it reiki massage.
ThinkI'll go and have a look at the thread. I've not been on the site for awhile due to moving house, job and training courses - looks like I've got a lot to catch up on!!
thanks again

Back to the name, most Witches call their cat Pyewacket so much so that it now means a Witches cat, well you should be well protected in this present life then.
I'll pm you later re the canine massage as think Henry's insurance should pay you, but shall have to check
RE: Canine massage, case studies wanted, derby area
Thanks Sherringham - you really got me thinking about names and the one I chose. Oops, makes me look a bit ignorant - I should've at least spent time looking into the name I chose and it's meaning! I just remembering watching the film (I love films from that era, eg. Breakfast at Tiffanys), it's one of those films I put on when it's raining, or I'm feeling a bit down.
As for the insurance, I was talking to a lady at a dog show yesterday and she mentioned that she thought the canine massage could be covered by insurance, so I'm going to do a bit of digging in that area.
Thanks again,
Jo

Hiya
I have three dogs and would love for them to be case studies for you, but unfortunately I'm from NE England. Would you be able to let me know which massage course you are doing please. Its something I've always wanted to do.
Thanks
Sue
